Average Increase by Day of Week

I was a bit surprised, but the difference day-to-day isn't all that significant, but there is a bit of an increase on the Weekend
I'm guessing it spills over to Monday because I'm 8 hours behind GMT — no, that makes no sense. It is likely due to 2-day tournaments.

 DoW    Avg
 Sun  825.4
 Mon  857.9
 Tue  727.7
 Wed  678.4
 Thu  708.2
 Fri  713.3
 Sat  767.4

Not to bad. I don't expect we will reach 80k this year, but with the Christmas holidays you never know.

Just Short of 75K

and for the first time this cycle, we had more than a 1K increase day-over-day
I record the jackpot daily at 09:00 and 21:00 local time. When I play (I'm not playing at present) these are the times I play.

Maybe the holidays has some influence on the increase.

Quite likely.
College students and some workplaces shut down over the Christmas break

Indeed, but still enough people are working during the week I think.

Inching ever closer to 100K

I adjusted the right-hand scale to make it easier to see the daily increases. They are trending upward, so it appears that more and more people are playing it.
I suspect that even more will play once (or if) we break that $100,000 barrier

Time will tell. Off course it could take still awhile before the jackpot will hit.

The current 7-day average is 900 per day, and with approx 15000 to go, it should take 16 days to get to 100K

That's a pretty long time. You would expect during the Christmas holidays more people would play.

More people may have played poker, but not necessarily played the deal

Withdrawal of The Deal
Also a direct result of removing StarsCoin we will be withdrawing our progressive jackpot game The Deal on January 31. This is because the game only allows play with StarsCoin.
The jackpot on January 31 will be shared between all players who have played The Deal since the jackpot was last won, based on the percentage of StarsCoin they have contributed overall. We’ll credit eligible players on February 3 and send an email to let them know the value of their share.
We’ll credit a ticket to all players who have played The Deal between January 31, 2023 and January 31, 2024 to play a special All-in Shootout for all remaining future jackpot funds, where prizes will be awarded as Power Path tickets. Players will be credited their ticket by February 6 and the All-in Shootout will take place in February. Players will need to register for the Shootout but don’t need to be online to play and we’ll send an email to notify all winners.

Thanks for that.
Source?
I didn't appear on their discord yesterday.

There is more in there today though:

Why are we removing StarsCoin?
Although StarsCoin have been an inherent part of our rewards program, it's time to let go.

Why? Because most of our players prefer to receive Cash instead of StarsCoin.

So, we've decided to end StarsCoin credits in Chests and convert any remaining balance in user accounts to Cash.

When are the StarsCoin funds exchanged for Cash?
As we go for a staggered approach, the transfer will happen successively, market-by-market.

What's the conversion rate?
If your platform currency is USD: All remaining StarsCoin will be converted at a $0.01 rate per 1 StarsCoin
If your platform currency is EUR: All remaining StarsCoin will be converted at a €0.01 rate per 1 StarsCoin

What is happening to the Rewards Store?
Switching off StarsCoin means we have to close the Rewards Store as well, as the only purpose of this Store was to spend the StarsCoin.

Don't worry! We still offer our popular PokerStars merchandise through the PokerStars Store.

How will this happen?
On the due day, we'll first turn off the Rewards Store.
Immediately afterwards, we'll exchange your outstanding StarsCoin balance into Cash as a one-off conversion credit.

How can I use this Cash?
As you like. You can even withdraw it.

And clearly, if they're getting rid of starscoin, the Deal will be done away with.
