I like your blog! You are much like I am. Rookie in a way but trying very hard to learn. I wouldn't mind trying a session review or something similar with you on skype etc. I have never done one before so maybe you would have to teach me!

Anyways, check out my blog that I just started and maybe post some of your input there as well.

Yeah I don't mind that mate. I'll check out your blog now.

Thanks for the comments and a study session is very quiet straight forward if you have been to school for longer than a week :) ha

gratz on making some money but i think its a mistake to be shooting 25nl, especially at stars

Why? Im not moving to NL25 just yet.. But.. I have a coach that has crushed NL25, and I also have proper BRM for the limit..

i don't get it.. why is it a mistake to be shooting at higher waters? imo it's good that u shoot cuz u now know how is it at higher limit and u will know what to work on 2x harder to beat the limit+ a wise man oncė said, u should take very aggresive brm while young, cuz u can rebuild fast, not like when ur old and u want to be conservative.

Yeah I don't understand. Oh your cruising NL10 and have the bankroll for NL25. I would stay NL10... Like what?

You see it different to me. I see every hand you play at nl10 to be +EV and make u money in the long run. I see every hand you play at nl25 to be -EV and lose you money in the long run. It can also be very damaging to your mindset and roll. I've seen break even 25nl players beating 10nl at 10bb/100 over 1m hands (check Xerox Teen), the level of play definitely increases alot.

Fusionpk, you're missing one very important detail here - you can never improve unless you get out of your comfort zone. Yes, you might lose for some time, but then you will adapt and win more than you've won at NL10... If your theory was true, then everyone would be playing at NL10 ;).

It's similar to working at a job position that you're good at and never pursuing higher positions as you are afraid of failure. Many people have that problem...

Yes but I also think there's stepping too far out of your comfort zone, theres also getting down the foundations and basic hand reading. I only say all this because I had similar exp and destroyed my bankroll, game and mindset.

Taking shots at higher limits is a must to progress, and if he also has the bankroll for it theres no reason to hold back! =)

And i cant se why youre game and mindset would be lost, ive been taking shots at 10/20 and 25/50 and yeah sure i lost alot of my roll but i learned alot and also got to see that the competiotion isnt that awesome even at those stakes wich made me wanna put in more time to get better so i can play there regulary some day. ;)

I'll share my thoughts on moving up as well..

In order to move up you need to have a decent roll, a good mindset to remember you will often have to move down and in a great scenario, you also know if you can beat the higher limit or not.

The roll is just grinded at lower limit usually so no problem about that.

Mindset is totally up to the player to be aware of the situation and consciously act on any slight form of tilt they feel they might have when moving up.

Third thing is the hardest to acheive but that's why Spungeh has me around. I know the NL25 SH Zoom level on Stars very well at the moment. I asked him to play some more NL10 hands so I can see the improvements he has made to his game, although he has the roll for NL25. As he specified, the NL25 shot was with 1 BI deposit he made just for that and it was successful. If after eviewing and talking to him in detail about NL25 we decide it's the best way to go, that's what he'll do.

Personally, I think it was a risky move and wouldn't have done it myself, nor encourage it. I know it varies from person to person but the "fuck this, I'm going big or going broke" tilt can always occur. This is the highest risk when taken out of your comfort zone: tilt! Whteher it's rage tilt, 1 BI BRM tilt or more subtle it happens a lot and I'm speaking from experience and from seeing a whole lot of people doing the same!

As in everything, there isn't a universal right way to do it, it's up to each person to asses what is worth the risk and how can they manage failure. Some are really bad at doing this and well... they fuck up greatly!

I believe with the help from my coach, and dedicated time set aside for theory and for learning my game, I will make it at NL25 and be at NL50 for this discussion with everyone again in a few months time..

I am aiming to better myself in all aspects of poker and general life, and take steps into the shallow end doesnt cut it for me. I want to make it, and I have goals in my life, that require me to jump in the deep end and swim with the sharks. You don't become a shark, until you can swim with them. And thats what I plan to do. _biggrin:
