3rd nuts. when we put people on hands we are putting them on potential hands dealt to them. As both these combos can be DEALT to a player, you have to take both into consideration.

Whats the Second Best Starting hand in poker??

Widely Agreed that AA is the best hand and KK the second best...

But what about the other AA?? Surely its the Second best starting hand and then KK is the third best starting hand :)

Just thought i'd poke the fire a little!

I personally think that the two AA hands would be considered equal pre-flop.

So essentially the two AAs are "tied for first" as the best starting hand.

If you open Equilab you can see this in action.
They are 50/50 preflop, and one of them improves slightly on a two-tone flop, and slightly more on a monochrome flop.

Cheers,

Remember that suits have no ranked strength in Texas Hold'em.

From wiki - In poker, the nut hand, is the strongest possible hand in a given situation.

So second possible strongest hand in this situation is A :heart:x .
