That flop bet was just a donation. You have to give up on this flop because you are never repping a straight here. Soon as villain calls the flop you are done with the hand as well, you are not getting odds to draw to a flush.

There is nothing wrong with 3 betting preflop then check/folding the flop. In this case you had 1 pair with no draw on the flop against a player who is going to put you on aces, which is a problem when you actually do have aces.

Could you explain this part a bit more please? It seems like he has at least 8 clean outs on the turn for the flush, which is about 36% EQ, and since he's getting 1:2.59 to call, he needs about 28% EQ to make a profitable call on the turn?

What am I missing here?

8/44 = 18%

Ahh yeah, the 4x rule is for the flop, I should divide it by 2 for the turn. Also 8x4 = 32 not 36, interesting. Thanks for helping me figure this out
