SB VP/PFR/3bet = 30/23/3.1
Maybe the sudden aggression should have tipped me off, or I should have just called. Maybe my range is to high as well. This is one of my first BSS games, and I found myself a little lost. Either way on the 4th raise should have tipped me off that he had a straigh or pocket pairs. Needed 40% for all in, and I took it. I think my ranges are bad though. Anyway all help apprecated.

Hello Chowchow12,

Welcome to the English NL Hand Evaluation Forum! Hopefully we will see more hands from you in the future. I hope that with our help you can improve your play and as well move up the limits. We will be waiting for the next hands and till that good luck on tables!

Even if you raise the flop then it's rather a Raise/Fold cause you are going to be against a trap if an opponent picks such a line. You wont be good enough here. Small bet/3bet usually is rather a trap.

Best Regards.

So should I have just called his cbet, or folded to it?

I think what veriz tried to say is - raising his cbet with KK in this spot is fine, it's just that if villan 4bets you after that, then you should think about folding..

But imo, depends on villain.. :/

Raising is still fine but we have to reevaluate our strength of the hand after we get 3bet. Which usually will be rather stronger hand and trap if it's a min-bet/3bet. At the best you going to see there pair+draw.
