Homework 2
Question 1: What do you think you could play differently than suggested in the BSS Starting Hands Chart and why? As I look at the starting hand chart it appears to be very simple, but when I attempt to apply it while I play it seems like I fold a majority of the time. I need clarity on the “Actions before you” section which is hard to understand. For example, if I have 99 and sitting in late position the chart says call if one player called, but with so many players acting before me it is hard to get just one caller. How would I handle numerous callers? If I apply the chart as I interpret it, it seems that I will be folding a lot and only playing a few hands. It’s tough to apply when more than one player checks or raises. For example with pocket AA, the chart indicates that from any position you should raise if all players fold, or one player called, or one player raised. I don’t know how to play it differently because I just started playing poker.
Question 2: Do you have questions about your preflop play? Post your hand for evaluation.

HecMadd shows [ Qh, Th ]two pairs, Jacks and Tens.
HecMadd wins 3.33 playchips from the main pot with two pairs, Jacks and Tens.
With the possibility of a possible flush draw, I slow played it. After the turn I raised seeing the possibility of a draw is lower. With the Ad at the river I took precaution and just checked. I think I should have gone in from the beginning with a bigger bet, I forgot about the four big blinds, sorry, I believe with a bigger raise, other players would have folded. Any other suggestions?
I think I did better on this hand:
