Ship should be fine but I prefer leading like you said.

I have doubts about villains cbetting this board often and you get light calldowns more often than light barrels. If you are 'afraid' of getting sucked out on such a dangerous board, there's not much you can really do when OOP apart from constructing a good range so that you also hit those scare cards not just your opponent.
