I'm going to my first tournament soon I'm just wondering how many Big Blinds is considered standard for a poker tournament?
Live or online?
Watch what the others are doing, and blend in.
Unless you want to stand out.
Good luck in your tournament!
Hi prime333
I suggest that you read this article. In there you will find that there are different stages in a MTT. In every stage you will have a different stack size so it's kinda hard to say what's standard and what not.

Hey prime333
What exactly is it you want to know? How many BBs a starting stack should be? What the standard raise is in terms off BBs? What is a good size stack to play with? The answer to all is of course very different so let us know what you want to know and we can help you out further ![]()
Have a nice evening
Carl
Well obv we can't tell you that because we don't know what tournament you are playing. The casino staff should be able to provide you with starting stack, and tournament structure. But the more bbs the better for us skilled players

Yeah i guess there isn't really a standard so to speak. They probably will hold a number of tournaments some with a higher starting stack some with faster blind levels maybe some 9/10 max and some 6 max tables. Depends what you want to play if you want to play all night and possibly all morning look for the slowest deepest games you can, if you are in for a bit of a gamble go play some short stack turbo game
Let us know how you doGood luck
