HERO 9♠ A♣ Initial Pot: 1875

Was doing a review with a mate and we have differing opinions on this hand so I asked if i could post it.

Sorry for the crap export but its essentially A9o UTG at a 9handed table with 10.5bb eff.

His reasoning is that this is a shove as:
- Last hand we showed AK
- BB is short
- Big stacks need top of their range to call.

I think this isnt a shove as i think its a higher variance play of which im trying to combat and I would rather 8-9bb in Late Position then rather take this spot right now.

Can we get some comments on this hand?

If you dont shove this here, what is the bottom of your range for shoving here?

Personally i shove ATo or AJo as bottom here, but not A9.

Thanks

I would shove this on the Button or SB, form utg it's a clear fold for me. The table is full and 7 players can bust or damage your stack(even the bb).

You can push many suited Ax in this situation but ofsuited at would be my bottom

Hey Kalculater!

You need to be tight with openshoving offsuited ax hands here. They perform poorly against callingranges.

Nash tells us to shove the following range:
29.1%, 22+ A2s+ A4o+ K6s+ KTo+ Q8s+ QTo+ J8s+ JTo T8s+ 98s

If blinds are 800/400/75

Is that correct?
