Make sure to do that ♦ It was good to meet you, man. GL with going fulltime pro!
So it is 2013 and i decided it is tiem to dust this blog off..
As some of you know in the end of the last year I quit my job with the idea to
try make a living form poker. How's that working out?
On the 3rd of January when I came back from my vacation in my hometown,
I set a pretty rigorous schedule for myself. I am very happy taht I stick with it so far - I am playing 6 days a week with one day off, and playing 3 sessions
a day for about 2-2.5 hours. Also I am spending liek 1-1.5 hours a day for going trough marked hands and trough hands in the HE forum.
I also set myself two other pretty cool routines - first is that I go 4-5 times a week in the gym, and workout good, especially on my cardio, with no excuses and bitching. Ive done taht so far, and I can say I feel way way better than after the holydays 10 hour sleep/5hour eat/5hour drink feats ♦
The second goal was to not look my acc balance more than twice a month.
This was isnpired by a book that i saw referenced in TwiceT blog titled 'fooled by randomness' which is pretty awesome. I also saw that Tim64 had one such
challange for himself as well.
This was an epic success
I managed to do it, and I have to say - I play way more liberated without looking in the cashier tab every hour or so...
My first half month recap shows that I am couple of hundred $$'s up,
which is a bit dissapointing since I thought I ran very good, but meh
results are not that important, right?
I am currently playing on FT, and I am very dissapointed in the traffic - it is hard to load 9 turbo tables 20-35$...On the other hand people ar playing like crazy the superturbos 10bb starting stack massacre, which i cant really comprehend - FT is definitely not RB oriented network, why would you as a reg start 15 such tables and make a living from this?
ANyway I had to try them out as well myself, otherwise I will be stuck with 4-5 tabling...If this is so the next month I think I will move to Ongame for example or something...
My short term goals :
post asmuch hands as I can in the HE forum, no matter how stupid I think my question is, or how many people will berate me - I am in this business for the $$ not for me ego..
Buying a new chair - I am currently sitting in an old chair that can dissintegrate any second, and is giving me terrible back aches - I think this investement will increase my productivity a lot.
Continue to follow my schedule of playing/posting hands and doing sports regularly.
That's it for now - good luck on the tables
I love your routine. You have the best routine from every poker player i know. I wish i could play 2-3 hours, hit the gym, go for a coffee, play poker 2 hrs, break, play poker two hours. This would be amazing
I dont know how is full tilt traffic but i played like two day and i really hated. Not for the traffic but for the software. It is good for 5-8 tables but it is extremely bad for 15 tables
Superturbos are the most profitable format by far. If you learn them you can crush them especially until 15$ with very limited knowledge. You can earn even 4 times as a turbo player makes
A good chair is the very must of each poker player. I will add a glove for wrist because eventually you will start having wrist pain from the mouse. You must buy one
Gl this year
Weren't you playing the 5max STTs in Ongame? What made you move?
post asmuch hands as I can in the HE forum, no matter how stupid I think my question is, or how many people will berate me - I am in this business for the $$ not for me ego..
^^ I absolutely agree with this sentiment.
@ Sirilidion Thanks mate ![]()
@ Belthazorrrr Thank you, best of luck to you too
Will see if I am able to stick with the schedule ![]()
@meepwn Yes I was, but Full tilt was my first pokersite, and old love never dies
On a more serious note I had some money locked there and decided to see how the tables are, clear up some bonuses etc.. But these superturbos are really not my thing so I will probably think of something else...
I like your resolutions mate, keep crushin' (and don't come back to ongame for fucks sake)
Nice to see u are back! Gl with keeping up the resolutions!

Haha thanks manBy the way - how is the traffic over there?
Traffic sucks, probably worse than FT. I have started to play Ultra turbo's to get enough volume in, but considering the blind structure already sucks at Ongame, you can imagine what those are like.

I have to agree with the Demon guy, I'm just happy I didn't set any volume goals, instead I try to improve a bit...
Traffic is awful.
My first month as a 'poker pro' went... disastrous..
I understood that (as i only look into results twice a month) when I tried to register for a tournament and it turned out i do not have enough money in my acc.. Good thing is that it is not that big a chunk from my BR (not a small one either) but this is the worst i have felt about poker since i started playing it...
Will take a 2-3 days off and reconsider my future actions..
Take care guys
Don't lose faith because of one bad month, bro, not even if it was horrible. I know it's easier to say than to do, but still.

Hang in there man! Having played with you a lot I know you have the skills to play profitable, this is just a little bump in the road.
I dk which day in a row this is that I am loosing more than 300$ in not more than two hours...I think that the number easily goes to double digit...
that is around 168 BI downswing only on FT, then I dropped 30-40 at ongame before it reopened... FML
So My first month of 'going pro' is over.
It did not finish how i wanted, more to the point there was not a single day of its second half that was how i wanted it to be :).
I think overall after RB it is around -1.5k$
I try to stay positive as much as i can, hopefully things would get better.
Right now I dont feel confident in my game at all, that is why I would try to post as much hands as possible (sorry for the spam LT3 :P).
From another point of view - I am so glad i didnt rush going pro and waited until i have a bigger BR, cannot imagine what the pressure would have been, had i done this with lesser BR. I still have more than 300 BI for the ABI that i am playing so I think i might turn this around.
Note to self - stay out of super/hyper turbos - I lost trmendous ammount of money playing these, not sure if I am doing something wrong in them as they are a relatively new format, but... I think I am better off without them for now...
I used to read hand eval forums daily with loads of threads from you, and almost all being responded "nice hand wp" by coaches, I thought why the hell this guy even posts, he does it right all the time anyway. ♦
Then I remember discovering that sharkscope thingie were you can add RB to a graph. I went through all regs I could think of and with RB you had the steadiest winning graph. ![]()
