Hi, Musher...

I play short sessions also, but I try to play to 200 hands.
Sometimes I leave early if the tables break, because I can't be bothered waiting around for tables just to play the 50 or so hands needed to make 200.

Playing shorter sessions gives me more time to review what I did.

Have you read "The Mental Game of Poker" yet?
Or read through the thread, " https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=132786" ?

If people doing weird stuff & getting lucky happens, try telling yourself, "I will be happy to do this against you any time".

Think of it: The odds of hitting a flush when drawing 2 are about 23:1.
If you raise and get called by this guy, would you not be willing to do that all night? He will win some. You will win some more. Much more.

Cheers,

Hi Vorpal,
The problem i found was without setting a definitive end to the session i was getting annoyed when i left with less profit than i could have, sounds stupid i realise but after leaving a session earlier with a loss after being up for around half of it i felt satisfied due to playing well which i haven't in the past, setting a definite limit worked earlier so heres hoping it continues to work.
I haven't managed to read the mental game of poker yet, i'll definately give the thread a look over though, i know what you mean about them paying above the odds, eventually they will hit but overall its a hugely -EV move.

Decided to do the summary before i finish playing for today since i've decided to move up and give 0.25/0.50 a shot, its before the 10k hands i'd planned to play however a lot of the players are the same so it should be alright, the main problem is fpdb's HUD seems to be reset for every new stake which is a shame, should be able to change that if i have a root around in the xml file so i'll try to do that later on.

I didn't quite manage the 3.5k hands i'd wanted to do since i didn't play at all on friday and i'm cutting it short a day, however thats still 500hands per day on average so i'm pretty happy with that.

I feel like i've stopped some main leaks of mine so we'll see how the next couple of weeks go, i'm not going to set any goals because i'm going to be busy a couple of days this week and micromillions starts on Thursday so i'm not sure how much i'll be playing 5CD.

As far as micromillions goes i'm planning to play some of the freezeout hold'em events, a couple of rebuys (due to most of the hold'em events being rebuy), the stud events and the nl 5card draw. I mgiht throw 8game or HORSE in as well but to do that i'll need to study omaha and 2-7lowball triple draw a bit since i'm rusty at best in those.

Theres a proposed prop bet between myself, Tino, Tommygecko and 3prwins for micromillions, the details haven't been sorted out yet so i'll post again with the details once they're sorted. If anyone is up for joining in the more the merrier if we can all agree on the details :)

Just to update on MicroMillions, the bet was finalised and we have two going; RoI and Biggest Cash.

Was unable to play any events during day one but no one in the bet cashed so no catching up to do there, this is the proposed event list i'll be playing over the next couple of days:

Definate
#12 $3.30 Hold'Em Big Antes
#13 $3.30 Stud Hi
#24 $2.20 Hold'em
#31 $3.30 Stud Hi/Lo

Possible
#18 $3.30 Turbo
#19 $4.40 4max
#23 $1+R
#29 $3.30 Turbo Zoom
#30 $3.30 Heads Up

The main problem with these are the times, where a deep run will cause problems but i'll definately throw a couple of them in with any luck

Managed to cash event 12 last night for just over 2BI, felt i played quite well on the whole but i need to iron out some spots post flop where i made a cbet and should have checked back due to having position since the board hit the villains limp-call range.

Event 13 didn't go so well which i'm disappointed with considering i felt i would have a bigger edge in the non hold'em events. The first 90minutes or so i blinded down playing, as far as i remember, just two hands. Got a few hands in spots with someone who i doubt plays Stud very often, they were capping with trash like AJ2 and 55Q, finally with around 3.5BB left and the bubble approaching i got in a hand against said villain where he reraised me with a 2 showing, i have QQ|2, it all goes in and by the end of the hand his 2pair beats mine, i didn't play the hand too well, i should have capped 3rd then got it all in ASAP however i called the 3b and didn't get it in till 5th by which point he had AJ|2A2 and i have QQ|2x2. So that was me out in 1100ish with 7xx paid.

MM So far:
Events : 2
Total Buy-in: $6.60
Total Cashed: $6.70
Profit: $0.1

Just playing the one event today at the most, might not end up playing #24 since it starts at 11.30pm and is regular speed, if i do and its a deep run then i'll most likely throw event #25 into the mix as well.

As far as the 3 way bet between me, Tino and Tommy goes, i'm the only one to cash so far but with a long way to go it'd be great to add another cash into that this weekend.
