I play short sessions also, but I try to play to 200 hands.
Sometimes I leave early if the tables break, because I can't be bothered waiting around for tables just to play the 50 or so hands needed to make 200.
Playing shorter sessions gives me more time to review what I did.

If people doing weird stuff & getting lucky happens, try telling yourself, "I will be happy to do this against you any time".
Think of it: The odds of hitting a flush when drawing 2 are about 23:1.
If you raise and get called by this guy, would you not be willing to do that all night? He will win some. You will win some more. Much more.
