Today I was pissed on. For the first time since the beginning of my short HU-career I couldn't handle my opponent and found myself in a raging tilt. And it took only 132 hands! After reviewing them, I can say that I just was a scared little girl god knows why. Should've pressured him more...

Question: what to do against someone with 30%+ 3bet? First thoughts — lower my steal and widen my 3bet-calling range and/or 4betting range.

Steal 74%, but I thought I could call any two suited cards against a minraise. It was almost at the very beginning but I'd already check/raised and barreled him off at QXXs board (he folded on a river). Effective stack is 67BBs. Was it a mistake to shove there?

FINALLY! I played 50NL! I had fun, even though the rake bites here aswell.

I spent 5 great hours at the tables (including waiting time).

My PC is going crazy because of the multiple pokerrooms, but so far it hasn't crushed.

I finished breakeven I guess. Not sure because my HM2 doesn't track Enet network plus my internet lagged for a while so I lost a few hands.

I'M FUCKING HAPPY!!!

EV is so sad because of the cooler at the very beginning JJ>KK, and later on I did something stupid but still won a pot on a low board AQ>99.

I'm not used to everything yet. Been playing very scared_little_girl style for a few days, and, considering my weak all-in skills, things were not going so good.

Today Gordon watched me play for a while, and I got THE EPIPHANY!

Overall, I've never played this much as I do now. My tables are opened for 8 hours or so. Of course, I don't play 100% of that time, because sometimes ppl just don't play me, but still, I have a lot of enthusiasm!

I bumhunt for now. And even though it's not so cool and stuff, but I'm frankly scared to play regulars. Need to get more experience.

I'll have a go:

1. Its going to depend on how he constructs his 3bet range right? Some people 3bet suited connectors, some split their 3bet range etc.

If his floprange is very broadway heavy (and 4bet/jams 99+ AK) as I think it might be, I quite like the idea of making a somewhat small bet to get some value out of some of those hands. This is of course providing he doesn't have a silly 20% or higher Check/raise or something like that.

When his range is more up in the air I don't think its so clear and I'll think more about how faceup villain will play on turn and river after we bet. I would probably look at his river stab % to see what happens after he calls our flop-bet.

2. If we face a calling station we want to make the pot as big as possible with the high card type hands that make top pairs we can get a lot of value from.

This thought kind of automatically sends me in the direction of limping the small-mid connected type hands that are difficult to make big hands with and will just pose us problems if we are to raise preflop and flop a middle to low pair. Hands that leap into mind are 47o 58o, 42s 52s etc. These hands mentioned are coincidentally also in the bottom 20 to 25% of hands

Interested to know if there is anything you disagree on there. Nice blog by the way, good idea asking those questions, was interesting to think about.

1) all depends of his aggression frequency on the river after, missed cbet. A missed cbet is often a sign of giving up, so you might be able to peel one street as a bluff catcher. nothing wrong with folding with just A high anyway.

2) with someone so aggressive otb I would first reduce my opening range. *as I start by opening A2C from the button to anything playable. Then it all depends of his 3bet size. if it is small enough you can call all your SC and PP and a some combos of monsters, basically anything you think you can play profitably vs a 32% IP. Given that the size of the pot is bigger and therefore the pot to stack ratio is smaller. IF you aint sure about calling or folding , I would generally 4bet bluff, (top of folding range) .

Hello everyone!

Today for the first time in my life I played a decent match where my opponent didn't leave after winning or losing one stack but was rebuying till the very end!

For about two hours we were gently playing with each other while constantly changing the effective stack size. He didn't leave even when I had to go to the bathroom!

Our battle took over 500 hands.

I can't show you the graph because my HM2 stopped tracking hands in the middle.

Best day in HU so far.

Despite the time I spend at the tables (usually it's 5-11 hours per day), the rake and my small mistakes eat tones of money.

Another curious thing I've noticed is that ppl appear at my tables wave-like. It's like you sit there for 30 minutes, bored as hell. And then BAM! You've got action at 5 tables at once.

It's very sad when somewhere at that point you need to go to the toilet. You wait till the very last moment, then write "brb", but for the whole time I've plated only 2 guys waited for me. And I'm shocked but not only the guys who're up against me leave, but those who're down 2 buying are gone by the time I come back.
Where is their desire to get everything back?

There are some opponents AGAINST whom I hit everything. I can easily call my gutshots "wihout having odds to do so". I will hit anyways.

Usually it happens versus one concrete guy. It's somewhere equal agaisnt the others.

And I'm curious if they run so bad only against me. And if so, why would they press "rebuy" again and again instead of "sit out"?

I would cbet $6 into 28 on the flop. You have no chance of getting to showdown if you check, so our only chance to win vs KJ/KQ/QJ type hands it to bluff. If the turn is an A/K or diamond, I would go all in. If its not one of these cards, I check back and get a free card. No other way to play this in my opinion.

Is he a fish? How does he react vs limps? If he never raises your limps, you can limp with your worst hands. If he always raises your limps, I would probably just raise with 60% on the button and call his 3bets a lot. In any case his strategy is horrible! Just be patient and you are going to stack him...
