THE FIRST POST

I know you have all been shaking with anticipation at seeing the results from what can only be described as an EPIC grinding week. EPIC is an interesting word...For reasons which you will see below - BUT FIRST!!

I thought it could be funny/ interesting to document the grind conditions which I have subjected myself to (or more specifically - WHERE I HAVE BEEN SITTING ALL FUCKING WEEK!!).

Grind station alpha - Laptop + 27'' combo - NOTE: Guitar/ Drum set/ Coffee Stains/ Chocolate/ Playboy Mags/ Ipad (With every video service available)/ Motivational (hand written) signs for optimal grind conditions and (failed) tilt control.

Grind station beta - Laptop + Projector combo projected onto bedroom wall - NOTE: Complete lack of life ♦

ANYWAY...

The results of this week have been mixed but, considering I haven't played 6-max in what seems like an age combined with the fact that I desperately wanted to post unbelievable profit week one was always going to be interesting.

$58 Profit incl. RB // $.65 an hour (LOLINGTON ROFLCOPTER)

Early-week:
Started out playing $10NL (with the plan to move down if I fell below $50 and right off the bat started strong but as you can see I was still adjusting to 6-max and was winning lots of flips (LOL AT THE -EV - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TOO!).

Mid-Week:
$10NL Went very, very, very pear-shaped. At this point I was actually adjusting well but I went through a really rough patch where I lost several BI. I revisited the sessions to see what went wrong and the run down is essentially severe run bad combined with some monumental settups.

MOST NOTABLY: House over House x 3 (At a loss of 3BI) + Top house over quads x 2 (At a loss of 2BI)

FML

Late-Week:
As planned I moved down to $5NL and tried to continue the grind in a professional non-tilty way. Trying to adjust my game and plug leaks as I went. Found my stride and made a last minute comeback (sorta...).

FINAL THOUGHTS
I think my graph and results are a testament to solid RB/ bonus acquisition and despite the fact I didn't totally crush it I am pretty please with my composure in the face of some pretty horrific settups. I am looking forward to getting to diamond edge status and above for even better RB etc. I think the leaks are getting sorted so I am expecting a much more solid performance next week.

I would also note that I played roughly 40K hands which, please correct me if I'm wrong, is pretty mental at non-zoom CG?

Things that helped:

- STOP LOOKING AT HEM CURRENT SESSION - JUST GRIND!!!

- Making RIDICULOUS signs to stay out of robot mode

- Background music

- Background movies

- Regular breaks (non poker related)

- Writing poker blog ♦

Mid-Week:
Weeeeelllll - As you can see by the VAST EXPANSE between EV and actually winnings - I COULD HAVE KILLED MYSELF AT THIS STAGE!! But, being a consistent and non-tilted (YEH RIGHT) poker baller, I decided to keep cool and JUST KEEP SWIMMING!! If I could sum up this section - I couldn't win when I got it in AND just to show how bad I was running at showdown:

Late-Week:
Had a couple good sessions and started to climb out of the hole all of which culminated with my first session with my lovely coach. CAN YOU SPOT WHERE MY FIRST LESSON WAS? (INSERT PWNAGE HERE)

Generally my game was solid (apparently) but after an hour session with the man himself - I was crushing and as you can see the red line makes a big difference to the final outcome. Really happy with the results and at week two, despite epic runbad, we have more than doubled the initial investment after RB.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Great week in the end and since start of week one I have def. plugged some big leaks. As any good poker player knows - we are always learning so gotta keep up the grind and try and take better notes/ add stuff to the HUD as needed.

I guess this week I also really felt like the BR should be deeper than I had anticipated in the past. Mid-week was really, really, really tough and even though I knew I was getting it in good it felt awesome to know I still had 10 BI behind me as a buffer.

Things that helped:

- COACHING

- Opponent revision / Notes

- HUD UPDATES

- Multi-table report revision
