Pokerstrategy Finland is shutting down

All of us in Finnish community were quite surprised to get this message yesterday (not an official translation): SpoilerWe approach you with very sad news . For legal reasons, we can no longer market the Finnish-speaking online poker site. Interpretation of the " marketing " is very strict : for example, a link to a site with any mention of the campaign is interpreted as marketing. In the end the only way to fulfill these requirements is to close the Finnish community . For us the deadline is set at the 1th of November. As a result, we have to take the following measures: • from 31.10. on large part of the Finnish site will automatically redirect you to the corresponding English-language site . • Video and strategy section , customer service, and the platform will remain open for a few more days . • By the end of next week, we transfer your account to the English -speaking community . If you want to belong to any other community , please let us know with a ticket. • We will also open a Finnish forum to the English-language site , and we will migrate the most popular forum threads there. Our humblest apologies for the inconvenience caused. We are as disappointed as you that we will have to perform this operation . Sincerely, PokerStrategy team Having talked to the people in charge of the Finnish community they've told us that even the people that worked with Pokerstrategy got only two days of notice (so they knew only a couple of hours before the community). Many of us in the Finnish community are wondering why this has happened so fast and some have drawn their conclusions that this is due to Playtech´s acquisition of Pokerstrategy. Playtech is also a partner of RAY (Finnish gaming association which has a monopoly of slot machines and live poker in Finland). RAY also has an online poker site in which they use Playtech´s technology. What do you think? Edit: Typo fixed

However I want to welcome every member from the Finnish community! I'm sure that we can make a great team! We'll get to know each other in no time I'm sure.

Btw I'm not English either, I'm from Belgium. And a lot of members here in the English community aren't english. So don't worry if you're English isn't as good as the brits like Pleno1. The most important thing is that we understand each other. Imo we are a nice bunch of people trying to help each other, giving tips and improving our games.

I really hope to see a bunch of finnish people actively contributing to the community and we can make something beautiful out of this sad event.

Wow! So much has changed since I quit. I haven't visited PS for over a year and this is what I find when I try to type in the usual fi.pokerstrategy.com. I'm shocked to see the Finnish community getting wiped out. I have plans on returning and I guess I must move on to the English community. It's OK, as this isn't the only English speaking community I have been on. It's still sad to not be able to do this all in Finnish in here anymore. I haven't checked out the Finnish sub-section on the English forums yet. Hopefully I'll find something interesting there.

At least I found my old blog by googling Maybe I'll continue that in English when I make my return.

And in regards to Titan Poker, didn't you get an email from them? Perhaps you should contact them and ask if it's still possible to get it out. It won't hurt, right? Here's the email address:
