tried to take it down on the flop plus protecting vs overcards, turn card was kind of just a " don't know if this is a good card to barrel but it's probably safer to bet this" and then on river it was like " oh i hit cool, i could probably shove here" and it would look pretty bluffy

Hi legand73

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: I would stay away from raising paired boards with hands with little equity like a pair of 66.

It's true that you can get some protection from overcards but unless you can get villain to call with those overcards you are turning your hand into a bluff and really just raising to take the pot down.

So, to reiterate, if we can raise for value (we get protection anyway) then do it.

As played I think that you should just check it down because I don't think you'll get floated that light that you can vbet turn and not a lot of worse folds to 1/2 bet. And the river shove for value is fine, no overpair folds.

this board is like the driest board out there and i can't really hope to rep anything so maybe i am getting calls by overs.

tbh this play isn't in my normal repertoire so i can see myself checking down in 9/10 cases

It's a great play vs stations but not so much otherwise imo.

But vs stations is hard to justify a turn bet as well because by this point a lot of overcards fold.
