Villain is 16/16 only 30hands. Pre standard. Flop I think we should cbet for protection. Getting raised he reps like set of nines and tons of FDs sometimes maybe air. Not sure if I should fold the flop? Turn we hit the ace and I somehow thought we have to protect and bet called but his range is made flushes and air here most likely so turn is just very spewy.

With such low sample Id assume villain is a TAG.
I'd think his not calling 3bet OOP super wide, BvsB I'd expect him to 4bet at least QQ+ AK and maybe even wider + some 4bet bluffs.

He could call like AQs AJs KQs 88-JJ, do you think he calls wider?

On the flop he could raise Ax of spades KQs, KJs 99 and JJ and maybe some Axs diamonds. You have only 40% equity against such range but the pot odds justify a call.
The As on the turn is pretty good card for us as it eliminates half of his FD, and we can get value from Ax bluffraises and JJ, and loose to 99, so I think I like betting turn, ch bhnd river.

I guess a lot can change given have you think what range villain can have pre calling 3bet OOP and raising the flop.

Hey Tukioppilas62,

Preflop 3bet for value is fine.

While cbetting for protection often has a positive expectation it's usually better to check back flop and consider potentially bluffcatching one street on turn depending on the card.

Turn bet is fine. Sizing is fine. We should play bet/fold.
