Hi, I dont like the shorty strategy either, but I used it to build up from $0 on fulltilt, now on $50. I always play 100bb when rolled for it.
Full tilt is pretty good because the $0.50 Heads up Hypers are really soft, so they can be good if you are used to the game type

Villain should have bet the river.
