Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!
More than anything, I recommend that you never limp, except in very, very rare circumstances. The reason for this is the concept of "Initiative". When you raise pre-flop, you gain some authority. Here an open raise of 3BB is called for by the charts.

In this particular hand, villain takes the initiative away, and declares himself to have a strong hand. He totally blows it on the flop. Lucky you.

If you had bet this, the outcome may well have been the same, but all along YOU not he, would have been in control of the hand.

I PLAYED WRONG THIS HAND.YOUR OPINION?

Preflop: Hero is BB with K:h, K:s.
MP2 calls $0.02, MP3 folds, CO calls $0.02, BU folds, SB calls $0.01, Hero raises to $0.10, MP2 folds, CO calls $0.08, SB calls $0.08.

Bet the flop!
2/3 to 3/4 pot at least.

The only way to get value from your big hands is to bet them.
In *this* hand you would lose w/ your KK vs TT,
but if you play like this you never make the money you need.

Here is how the flop looks:

Board: 7♣2♠4♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    91.62%  91.62%   0.00% { KK }
MP3     8.38%   8.38%   0.00% { TT }

On this flop you will win 92% of the time.
When you have KK you are looking to play for stacks, not pennies.

If you are in this spot 100 times, you will win 184 dollars, and lose 16 if you play for stacks -- a 168 dollar profit.

If you play as you did here, you will win 32 dollars, and lose 3 -- a 29 dollar profit.

So yeah, you played it badly, but not because you called on the river.

Oh, and if you do get it all in before the T comes up, he may actually fold, which is a tragedy the 92% of the time no T arrives.

Also, you show the other players that you play your strong hands weakly -- they can then raise big against you.

THAT ACE ON RIVER SAFE ME?YOUR OPINION?

What saved you was villain doing what I said you should never do:
He let you off the hook by not strongly playing his strong hand.

You have top pair, but not a great kicker. AJ and KJ both beat you.
For this reason it is OK to play this hand passively.

You have a hand that has showdown value, and given the small bets it is OK to call down IMHO.

I'm sure better players that I am are able to fold the river.
I would probably call, cuz I'm a fish :f_biggrin:

Thanks for posting!
Those were interesting hands!

Thank you VorpalF2F,
Interesting advises!!!Especially that one for the hand(KK).I can understand the mathematics better because i am a scientist.I agree with you.
But for the hand(AK) from that position i prefer the limp.My positional stats showing positive situation if i limp.Let me not agree strongly with the 3b raise (again and again) :)

Hi, panahs,
Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!

I won't argue with your play.
There are things that I would have done differently.

If you believe that villain has AJ+ or A5 this line is correct, otherwise it seems too passive to me.
There are no straight draws or flush draws out there, so I would personally have bet the river.

I would have lost if called, but that is just a cooler.

Villain on the other hand, played it terribly.
Had he bet more, you almost certainly have come along.

He left a lot of money on the table.

When posting these hands, consider leaving the result hidden -- use a spoiler, or even post the result later in the discussion.

I suspect you think you played it badly because you lost.
Would you have posted the hand if you won?

Once again, you played a very strong hand passively.
The outcome does not matter, only the process.

Peace,
--VS

1. I don't like your huge overbets. You are just scaring away all weaker hands and isolating yourself against TX or better. If I were in his shoes I would probably muck AA. You can still get all the money in by raising and betting smaller, but you bet on all 3 streets instead.

2. Min checkraise on the Flop doesn't serve too much purpose, besides folding pure air hands from the guy who bets 4 cents. Either raise larger to 12-15 cents to generate more fold equity, or just call the bet on the first place.

I would just fold the River. It's really hard to put villain on a pure air hand, many of his gutshot straight bluffs like KQ/QJ/KJ would have been improved by this River and I think it's reasonable that he raises the Flop with some AX hand and is afraid of the Turn card giving you trips so he checks to pot control.

3. I think I can spot a leak you have - You tend to use overly small minraises quite a lot. I think you should just raise to a larger size with your entire range. The limp-reraise is also questionable and may be hard to balance with your entire range. It probably makes more sense to use a raise or fold strategy in all positions in a 6max game. Maybe in a 9max game it might make more sense to limp in early position. I'm not going to say limping UTG is bad for sure, but raising your entire playable range is probably going to yield a larger profit in the long run.

Remember, the biggest mistake people tend to make at NL2 is that they tend to call too much. So your best strat should be to raise and bet large to go for max value and not to trap/induce. At the same time your raise and bet size for hand 1 is too huge. So you need to find a good balance

Nope. You took your stab at taking the pot away, and the best you have is a backdoor flush draw and a gutshot. You don't have the pot odds to call, and there are no implied odds, since villain's stack is already in.

You might consider just calling the flop, since you DO have some potential, but as played, good fold says Vorpal.

Hi mate,

About that hand: I think you should raise a bit bigger on that drawy flop.

On Turn you should bet 2/3 or so as villain still has some worse hands he can call with, he doesn't have only flushes. If you had bet bigger there on F and T, river could be easier shove.
