Sure I'll be commenting here But you could also use our open forum for hand discussion. With your own thoughts about the hand and how you should have played

1. hand:

You could lead yourself 2/3 or ch/raise. I think I prefer the ch/raise to gain some fold-equity.

As played, if you donk turn you should go for 2/3-3/4, this small bet just gives him better chance to pot-control.

On river you could go for over-pot as this isn't pot-limit game; I think he would call you as much versus 2x pot bet as 1x pot bet.

2. Fold pre-flop. It's not even suited.

As played, your villains seems to be station (you should have some stats about him) and thus I wouldn't bluff. Even calling flop is borderline as many of your outs are tainted. So fold.

Hi,

You can have stats with PT4 or Holdem Manager 2. I myself use HM2 and it provides thorough stats to help me evaluate my decisions _love:

My friend CPallo, (i sent a friend request),
First of all i would like to thank you for participating in my blog.Your advises/opinions are very helpful.I RESPECT...
In this point let me- kindly- disagree.I am against to pokertracking programs. For many reasons but i have one (FPDB a free program).I am using it just for history data and analysis after the game.

Many of my friends push me to change mind...I don't know,i am afraid.I prefer in difficult situations take big decisions because i have a feeling...

The next hand it will be an example what i mean.Of course i will be happy to see your advise :)

Anyway is a big conversation. It will be better if more people participating in this discussionI have a good idea!You/me or both manage to open a tread in pokerstrategy forum aboutlive tracking. And put a pool to see the results.Who is interesting?

Hi panahs,

I'd have to agree with CPallo and most others - using a tracking software is almost a must. Although it certainly isn't impossible to have a positive winrate and beat the game without using a HUD, having stats on your opponents allows you to have more of an edge and find leaks in your opponents' games.

While I understand your sentiments about wanting to play on your "feelings", I do strongly disagree. Especially when playing Zoom games, you're just not going to be able to get a feel for your opponents, especially at the lowest limits where the player pool is huge. Having tracking software and a HUD will, however, allow you to gather information on your opponents over time.

So I would strongly recommend you do get either HM2 or PT4. Everyone is saying you should use it for a reason - it's just insanely useful! :)

Regards,
Tino

Accepted :)

I'm sure you won't regret it. And using a trial version first is a great idea. You could first try HM2 for a month and then PT4 for a month and see which one you like best. If you want more info about both of these programs (and others) here:

Poker Tools

I personally use HM2 as that's what I've pretty much always used. That said PT4 is great as well and in the end it all comes down to your personal preference :)

And if you have any problems with setting anything up or if you have any other questions, just ask them in our poker tools board:

Poker Tools board

Let us know how you find using it, once you've used it for a while :)

That is correct. fpdb HUD does not work with zoom, but it does import the hands.

The program is written by volunteers, so there is no way to know when it will work with zoom.

too transparent you have the nuts here. You should value bet based on villain, if he is not a complete fish then shoving just folds out everything he was calling with. If he is all-in then he will shove over a river value bet anyway.

Hi,

Pre-flop: I'd rather raise or fold this hand pre-flop from this position. You shouldn't limp this when there's only 6 players on the table.

Flop: ch/raise versus that small bet, you have 2 pair and I doubt they give up Ax to a one raise. You can make your raise small to keep them in the pot, like to 0.35. After that, you could just bet T and shove river.

Now as played, when you donk 2/3 on turn any thinking player knows that you have a good hand and you are giving them information about it way too easily. Without initiative I can't see us betting any other sizing, though. But ch/raise flop and you would have avoided this situation.

And when we didn't ch/raise F and river we hit nuts, you shouldn't shove. Villain's range is rather weak here (he didn't raise your donk on turn) and river is a scarecard and you both have quite a lot behind, so you should aim for 1/2 of a pot bet here IMO.

It is good to see you raising higher pre-flop.

I think that betting at the very least 2/3 pot on the flop is necessary.
there are flush draws and straight draws out there, and you want to give them poor odds to call -- but not so poor they wont call.

Turn is a crappy card -- there are a lot of Aces in the other players' ranges.
They don't seem to like it much though.

J:d on the river is even worse for your hand. You get trips, so it now beats and two pair Ace hands, but flushes get there.

I would check/call a reasonable river bet, but you never had to make the decision.

I'm curious what others think.

Cheers,

First off, this post is made with all due respect. BUT........

Your blog drives me crazy! I assume you are knew to poker and want to do things your own way. This is fine except for some key mistakes that you refuse to acknowledge.

The first is this. You claim you are a scientist. I assume this means you value facts with proof. Yet you are against tracking software. You prefer to play with "feel". At a zoom table no less. A zoom table that you play one hand against a player with no reads and no history at nl2. And you expect to be so intuitive with your zero history with your opponent that you will be able to soul read him/her? That makes no sense. Worse, it's completely unscientific.

Second. Your game is a walking breathing contradiction. You continually refuse to 3 bet hands like AKo IN POSITION yet you are more than willing to 3 bet hands like K2s. How does that make any sense? You are not balancing your ranges. You have no excuse for either scenario.

Onto your bet sizing. You are willing to reraise with garbage tiny sizes, but when you have a super strong hand you are only willing to either check/call or slam more than a pot size bet in. Makes no sense.

Thirdly, there has been some great advice given that you have sluffed off as "I need opinions in your advice."

Take heed this advice.

I played a fair amount of NL2 zoom recently and I don't really agree with this too much, I feel like this is how I'd play the hand at NL10 but not NL2 zoom.

At NL2 zoom you can generally value bet thinly vs basically everyone.

On the flop I agree to bet bigger, probably going 22c since nobody will fold Tx, 7x, any draws which there are a fair amount, and quite a few guys will be calling any PP here also.

On the turn I think we still have a 1/2 pot value bet as people at NL2 never fold what was top pair on the flop regardless of whether the turn is a scare card. Its pretty thin but at nl2 zoom its quite standard for me to do this, and I feel that JJ is too strong to just x/f here. Obviously the plan if called is x/f a blank river.

River is absolutely a value bet imo, you are missing a ton of value here. Would make it 55c here and fold to a raise, if they have a flush or straight you'll hear about it. They don't have too many Ax as played but most nl2 guys are calling QT here all day after turn is checked so I think you miss a fair amount of value here.

My nl2 motto, is if in doubt value bet (obviously assumption is you're aggressor and aren't getting raised back) :f_biggrin: Hell, several times I thought I was bluffing at nl2 zoom and somehow got called by worse. :f_confused:
