Thank you CPallo. But how can i have stats for my opponent? The hand played on Zoom.

Hi,

You can have stats with PT4 or Holdem Manager 2. I myself use HM2 and it provides thorough stats to help me evaluate my decisions _love:

My friend CPallo, (i sent a friend request),
First of all i would like to thank you for participating in my blog.Your advises/opinions are very helpful.I RESPECT...
In this point let me- kindly- disagree.I am against to pokertracking programs. For many reasons but i have one (FPDB a free program).I am using it just for history data and analysis after the game.

Many of my friends push me to change mind...I don't know,i am afraid.I prefer in difficult situations take big decisions because i have a feeling...

The next hand it will be an example what i mean.Of course i will be happy to see your advise :)

Anyway is a big conversation. It will be better if more people participating in this discussionI have a good idea!You/me or both manage to open a tread in pokerstrategy forum aboutlive tracking. And put a pool to see the results.Who is interesting?

First off, this post is made with all due respect. BUT........

Your blog drives me crazy! I assume you are knew to poker and want to do things your own way. This is fine except for some key mistakes that you refuse to acknowledge.

The first is this. You claim you are a scientist. I assume this means you value facts with proof. Yet you are against tracking software. You prefer to play with "feel". At a zoom table no less. A zoom table that you play one hand against a player with no reads and no history at nl2. And you expect to be so intuitive with your zero history with your opponent that you will be able to soul read him/her? That makes no sense. Worse, it's completely unscientific.

Second. Your game is a walking breathing contradiction. You continually refuse to 3 bet hands like AKo IN POSITION yet you are more than willing to 3 bet hands like K2s. How does that make any sense? You are not balancing your ranges. You have no excuse for either scenario.

Onto your bet sizing. You are willing to reraise with garbage tiny sizes, but when you have a super strong hand you are only willing to either check/call or slam more than a pot size bet in. Makes no sense.

Thirdly, there has been some great advice given that you have sluffed off as "I need opinions in your advice."

Take heed this advice.

Hi Verre,

I welcome you to my thread. You are absolutely right! But you can see after this i said"i give up.i will try this for atrial period"...So that means i have accepted the advises. Also i said that i am using a tracker (FPDB) for history and after game analysis but not for live HUD.

As scientist i agree that i am familiar with the numbers and statistical analysis (especially with probabilities).I agree that sometimes in my game from specific position i am not 3 bet AKo.Let 's say i am doing some experiments (don't forget the title -new try-).Why?For 2 reasons
a)We can't play all players the same game.Maybe we were studying the same theory but each one have done some changes on practice. And believe me the statistical analysis of my hands show me that ,with this kind of game i can do defense with low cost and maximize profit with attacking.
b)Do not forget that a poker is a game with probabilities and skills. So this wild combination for me -at poor my opinion- is the biggest gun. Why? With skills you can change and manipulate the probabilities of the game to maximize your profit and minimize your losses .

For conclusion, always i respect all the advises from others so i am asking for them. But you will never see me to give an advise to others for many reasons. An advise is not always the best way for your game if do not first check it and proof with practice on play.
I really like your way you chose for the discussion(TAG :P).You shock me and i need it!!!
You are always respectable and welcome.
p.s. I am sorry about my English ,trying to improve hard.Maybe is the reason why i can not sometimes communicate very well with others as all we want.I promise to be better in future

Well I completely agree that there are many different ways to approach poker at that there are many profitable ways to play the game.

The point I was trying to make is that you are losing boatloads of value by not charging your opponents for the chance to suck out on you. Preflop AK is better than 90% of the possible combinations with 60% plus equity. A 3 bet is mathematically profitable against anybody that opens more than ~8% of hands. This is 99% of the population.

The next thing is that now you know you have a profitable situation, you can use opponents future actions as a guide to know where you currently stand against him. You can narrow his range significantly. You cannot do that by just calling. Let's say he cbets 50% of the time. Good luck guessing his range. But what if he only calls a 3 bet with 10% of his range? Now you can pidgin hole his range much better. What if he 4bets with only 3% of his hands? You can now safely know you are against a range as small as QQ+.

You may think your playing style has much less chance of swings but mathematically you couldn't be farther from the truth. By not narrowing hour opponents range you get to showdown much more often and therefore give your opponent much more chances to hit hands against you.

Hi, panahs,
3000 hands is really too small a sample for a useful opinion.

However...

Looks good!

Best of luck!

There is something really wrong going on with your RFI. Unless I am not looking at the stats correctly, this is your raise first in:

EP 1.7% (~12% is more reasonable)
MP 2.2% (~18% is more reasonable)
CO 11.1% (~28% is more reasonable)
BTN 47.2% (50-60% is pretty standard so there's not a huge issue here)
SB 47.6% (quite loose but people fold blinds too much so its good that this is high)

Especially EP and MP are WAY WAY too tight, this would suggest you are only raising QQ+ and AK. While there may be some variance due to the fact that your sample is only 3k hands, I'd still say that we can still conclude that you are playing far too tight from the first 3 positions.

It seems that you are limping a fairly wide amount of hands from EP-CO instead, and I would not advise this, and would advise raising hands that you wish to play if you are first into the pot.

@metza
I think you nailed it: the limping from EP-CO accounts for the low RFI.

@panahs
Here's another thought on limping:
Each time you bet, you are charging the others a price to see your cards.
Why sell yourself so cheaply?
If you think you have an advantage, charge a reasonable fee for them to take a chance on sucking out. Never let them suck out for free!

If -- on the other hand -- you DON'T think you have an advantage, then fold (or check if you can), and save your coins for a time when you can use them to get more

Cheers,

@metza, @VorpalF2F

I know that all of these numbers and variables on PT,Hm2 ,FPDB and other statistical analysis tools are very helpful.Honestly i start studying the background theory of that mathematical and statistical formulas.A learning from zero to an advance level.I agree is a MUST
As you can see is a small sample of hands because i am interesting more to improve my game, studying the theory review my sessions hands and finally discuss some good hands with others.
There are a lot of things out there have to do until accept that i am a solid player at any limit.

I choose the far way but the safest.Never back again!!!
And people like you with advises and your opinions help me a lot!THANK YOU

Hi, panahs,
Yes, luck is certainly part of the game.

Over the long term, luck evens out for all players.
I think Phil Ivey is the exception to that, but I can't be sure.

The KK vs KK is a perfect example of that.

In the 2nd hand, where you shove over the CBet vs two players you are really in a spot.

The spot is difficult because:
You're short stacked -- If you don't auto-top-up your stack, this will happen a lot. You have no fold equity here (or very little). Your hand is an OESD w/ two overs.
The board is paired. There is a flush draw out there too.
You bet into a situation where no worse will call, no better will fold

In this particular case, you were dead in the water from the start, but with less than 40 BB, you need to play a short stack strategy, and this isn't it.

Cheers,
--VS

Hi VorpalF2F,
Honestly, at that point i was TILT!!!.I lost many showdown on the river. And this bad downswing made me crazy X(.
I did not rebuy because i knew that i lost another session.BIG losses!!!

Anyway i found the solution.Turn on the regular tables and recover from the downswing. The good news is that, for first time i used live tracking (FPDB is working very well with regular tables).Maybe is the missing part of success.
