Hey! I wonder what alternativs do I have? I am trying to not call all in preflop often. The player who shoves, I put him on a range of 77+ KJs+ ATs+ But almost something like KQ or AQ, I wasnt afraid of playing against a higher pocket pair. Do I want to be AI against his range? I am 34bb and vallian is about 19bb. losing a flip here would hurt my stack... anyways, Am I thinking close to right here? Is it an easy call/fold?

pot to win if called: 2x 18844 + SB + 8x ante = 37688 + 1300 = 39688
to call: 18844 - 2000 = 16844
pot odds: 16844 / 39688 = 0.424 = 42,4%

That means for a breakeven call you need an equity of 42,4% with your hand vs. estimated handrange from villain.

Because of ICM you need even a bit more than that, probably around 44%.

Use pokerstrategy's free tool equilab to calculate your equity:
Villain: 52.1% (77+,ATs+,KJs+,AJo+,KQo)
Hero: 47.9% (99)
That means it is a relatively clear call.

A good first guess in such typical resteal situations with a bit less than 20bb is a calling range like 88+, AJs+, AQo+. Depending on specific situation (vilians tightness, distance of ICM bubble, other smallstacks around at bubble situations etc.) you can loose or tighten your calling range a bit.
