Another possible misunderstanding in Russian poker texts arises when Google translates the term 'раздача' as 'dispensing', whereas it should be translated as 'hand' (or, more literally, 'deal (of cards)', i.e. a hand as an episode in a game of poker, not as one's holding) in the poker context.
In no limit limped pots, if I have any part of it at all I two barrel a lot, it works fine. Try 2/3 then 1/2. So does iso-raising and firing at any flop, hit or no, again 1/2 is plenty the same as cbetting versus a nit, they have it or not nearly always. Chk/c sucks, take it away from them.
Multiway people don't make those moves often enough and pots get chkd down with the result that as you say, '...if only...'
It may be different where you play.
Hi,
great thanks tonypmm for his help. He is very presize in describing the situation.
As for translation from Russian, if you need help in any particular part of the blog - just let me know, I hope I could do it a little bit better than Google
despite Google speaks English much better than me ![]()
My initial Idea was about stats and may be hands, where translation is not so importantl.
By the way my note about Cow converter's fault to convert muck part of HH is valid for your blog also. ;o) Sometimes it's rather interesting to see what opp had.
.
I'm reminded of the story of an early computer translator that took the phrase 'out of sight, out of mind' and translated it into Russian, and then translated it back into English as 'invisible idiot'. It seems to me that there's still a lot of invisible idiots in Google Translate.
Lolly!
I love it.
As for Feral Cow not showing mucked hands, I will quite often copy the mucked cards from the "un-converted" window and paste into the "converted window", then adding a colon after each card.
I just forget to do it. ![]()
So you can see what it looks like, I fixed the hands in my last post.
Here is what the BBCode looks like:

I'm toying with the idea of getting up at 03:00 to play the MM 5-Card Draw.
Problem is, in these NL tournaments, I keep busting out shoving kings- or aces- up vs guys who hit trip 7s (why always 7s?) drawing 3.
If Poker is a game of incomplete information, NL 5-Card Draw is about as incomplete as information can get.
Anyone else playing? If I decide to go to work instead, I can rail you from there.
Best of luck all,

My plans have been changed so I plan to play also, but I didn't play 5CD for a long time, so there is no sense to watch in order not to be disappointed :o)

NL 5-Card Draw
I got bored this afternoon, and saw a MM-056 $1.90 NL 5-Card Draw SnG filling up.
So why not? I found out after it started it was a hyper turbo. I figured that aggression was going to carry the day, and for the most part I was right.
In this hand, I actually figured my KK would be ahead, but it took a timely draw to bust the first player 4 hands in. I could not see calling, because there would be no FE post-draw, so if there is any FE, it's now.

From there I raised several time and got the blinds and just held my cool until we were down to 4. When the 2nd player bust, we had two big stacks and two cripples both in severe blind trouble -- and since it paid two tickets I basically had to wait it out.

I let time run down to the last couple of seconds before the time bank would be needed before 4Betting. His Fold to Steal is low (66%) and his 3Bet pre is high (7%) and I didn't check any specifics. I didn't want to flat it, I didn't want to fold it, and we're too deep to shove as a bluff (at least I think so anyway).
Oh -- and villain used his entire time bank to fold. I have nearly 300 hands on villain, so my ATS probably looks to him to be the 40-60% range. Once I get a deep stack, I just open-raise until they tell me to stop. And then I 4-Bet ![]()

The J9 is a more extreme case of Zeebo's Theorem (not law

I may take a chill pill myself and try a couple of these MM sats, I had some fun with them last time round and the play is soft.

Right you are, sir! Oi've corrected my original post.
I'm going to have a stab at one myself -- I haz a ticket to a $5.50 tournament, so why not?
The gentleman who won the other ticket in my satellite is currently sitting 3rd of 10 in MM 56 -- so I'll watch it down to the end.

It was cold today.
So cold the teenagers had their pants pulled up.
As I was getting on to the bus, I accidentally kicked a girl in the leg.
I apologized, and she said, "Oh, that's OK"
So I kicked her again, but now she gets mad.
Weird.

Everybody seemed to have a better hand.
My HUD stopped working for no apparent reason.

Oh dear,
Mrs Vorpal's 60th birthday is approaching, and the sisters (10 of 'em) are planning a get-together 700 km away. (there are 3 brothers also, but they just do what they're told)
So we are faced with a 700km trip over 8 mountain passes in the late fall.
I know the road report already: "Highway 3: Compact snow, slushy and slippery sections, with limited visibility at higher elevations. Watch for crews ploughing and sanding".
<sigh>
To make matters worse, there is a huge kerfuffle over where to hold it. Half the relatives are smokers (tobacco & others) the rest of us aren't. Also we have a lot of friend who won't come if there is illegal drug activity, so I fear it will end up being a smoke-in with Mrs Vorpal and I sitting in a corner of a smoke-filled room listening to potheads talk nonsense thinking they're so clever. The worst of it is Mrs Vorpal's twin sister is in the pot camp.
Oh, I'm sure it will all work out, and when it is all over, a good time will have been had by all.
We live in a weird age -- we didn't have to worry about this years ago. Non-smokers were OK hanging out with smokers. Teetotallers could attend parties with booze and not feel awkward.
When I hold a party at my house, I have to tell the pot smokers -- sorry no -- I have friends who have moral objections. If I invite some people, I have to say no alcohol because some guests are recovering alcoholics, and don't have their temptations in check yet. Or, I have to leave some long-time friends off the guest list if I want a glass of wine with dinner. Last couple of times I gave the teetotallers the option, and they sadly declined.
How do other people handle stuff like this?
Ok, no more whinging...

Not a problem I've had to deal with. Best of luck.
Waaay back in the early / mid 80's when I hung out with people who consumed marijuana, there was an option to consume the marijuana by way of dope cookies or dope muffins. Could you not find a suitable recipe and get the pot heads to consume their marijuana by way of ingesting rather than smoking? Is it the act of smoking that is an issue or the fact they are affected by drugs that is the issue?
If they could ingest they could pre-load in the parking lot before joining the gathering.
So, the question is, can the pot heads modify their consumption for this occasion and consume dope cookies instead?
An excellent suggestion , assuming THC is effective when ingested orally. I'll run it by boss-lady.
I think the pre-load bit happens anyway ♦
I understand that the most likely scenario is that there is a large gathering that breaks in two after the first hour or two.
Cheers,

I was planning to bet the turn if villain checked back OTF, So I let him build a pot. I figured two overs, 6-something or maybe a big pair.
Some times things just go right...
As I mentioned, I'm trying to pay attention to showdown.
Somehow, I STILL got to showdown way to much (39%), but two things made a big difference -- first, I won nearly 60% of the times I did get there.
Secondly, I played for pot control far more than usual, and as a result, when I DID lose at showdown it was generally a much smaller pot.
So atm I'm just over 1.5 BI down for my shot.
So far, so good...
