Countdown to 1 billion!
PokerStars is on the verge of reaching its billionth tournament and to celebrate is boasting more than $3 million in increased guarantees, special tournaments, giveaways and Golden Sit & Go's between November 17-30.
This is a huge milestone, and just like their billionth hand promotion, the countdown will prove hugely profitable for some grinders.
The Carnival of Tournaments includes the following:
Billionth tournament
The billionth tournament on Sunday, November 30 at 13:00 ET. It has a $109 buy-in, $2m is guaranteed, $200K in added prizes will be given away at random during the first 2.5 hours, and you can qualify for as little as $1 via satellite.
For the first 2.5 hours of Tourney Number One Billion, PokerStars will award prizes frequently to randomly chosen tables. All players on the winning tables will win a prize.

Satellites and Tourney Number One Billion can be found in the PokerStars 6 client under ‘Tourney’ > ‘Special’, and can be found in both PokerStars 6 and PokerStars 7 software by searching for ‘Billion’ in the Tourney Filter.
Over $3 million in increased guarantees
Tournament guarantees will increase by 50% between November 24-28, 100% on November 29 and 200% on November 30:
• BIG: From November 24-28, The Daily Big tournaments will have guarantees increased by 50%
• BIGGER: On November 29, The Daily Big tournaments will be renamed ‘Bigger’ and have their guarantees doubled
• BIGGEST: On November 30, The Daily Big tournaments will be renamed ‘Biggest’ and have their guaranteed prize pools tripled
• HOT: From November 24-28, The Hot Turbo tournaments have guarantees increased by 50%
• HOTTER: On November 29, The Hot Turbo tournaments will be renamed ‘Hotter’ and have their guarantees doubled.
• HOTTEST: On November 30, The Hot Turbo tournaments will be renamed ‘Hottest’ and have their guaranteed prize pools tripled.
Throughout all of the above, random tables will be selected to win a ticket prize.
The prize is a free ticket matching the buy-in of the tournament you are playing, giving you another chance to enter the same tournament and win (on another occasion, not a re-entry to the same event).
Golden Sit & Go's
Golden Sit & Go's will return with $500,000 in cash rewards. Selected Sit & Go prize pools will be randomly doubled, tripled or sixtupled.
Golden Sit & Go’s will be selected at random and receive either a Big, Bigger or Biggest prize, which could be up to FIVE times the normal buy-in and SIX times the prize pool amount:
• BIG: You win your Sit & Go buy-in back, and will therefore be 'freerolling' in the tourney. The total prize pool will also be doubled.
• BIGGER: You win 2x your Sit & Go buy-in, and the total prize pool will be tripled.
• BIGGEST: You win 5x your Sit & Go buy-in, and the total prize pool will be multiplied by six.
