Sorry for not explaining.Lets say if your set kkk ,were made from a pocket paire kk.Then his pocket anything has Little chance and no value.
It baffles me as to why they chase it too the river And manage to get the full house
I got it with AK
FLOPP:AA 7 5 3
SET 3 MAKING FULLHOUSE 333 AA
Same goes for the flush nut with AK OR AQ iff theirs a pair on the board and villain is firing ,then ,??
I shoved all in on flop making it obvious i had the nuts ,was still called and got beat by fullhouse on the river.
Sorry i still dont know iff that will help.
I only got these situations on ZOOM .

Ohhh I get the point he is just wondering why people keep calling even though they know they are beat and only got 2 outs left AND can't even be sure if the have win with there two outs.

Well I'm happy that people out there are playing like this -> otherwise you wouldn't make money. Ofc sometimes they hit there outs on the turn or river and win, but most of the time they miss, and as played here you can stack off if you induce it right.
But that's on the low stakes, if you play higher it's very unlikely that such things happen.

@htghguuh, RaucheCh1987; Oh, I see the point now. But actually RaucheCh1987 explained it very clearly - he is, I am, and you should be, more then happy that these guys do things like that again and again. Forget those times they hit their 2 outs and stacked you, try to understand how many times they're calling till the river with almost no equity, blowing the pot and then folding OTR where you're taking the pot with your greedy hands :sifflote:

The first day of the year was really funny, I believe I was kinda late to repay my debts last year to Fortuna, but I did it today, so better late then never I guess :f_cool: 5 BI's under EV, but still managed to show half BI profit :f_thumbsup:

2nd official challenge update

We're halfway through our first challenge milestone of 100Eur, so I believe it's time to make the 2nd official update.

Justas BR after 12 days: 105,37$

Mantas BR after 12 days: 65,84$

As you can see, I'm 40$ ahead, it's 8BI's in NL5, so pretty solid lead to have right now :f_cool: Still, it's only 1/2 road completed till milestone of 100Eur and only 1/10 till whole challenge, but the good start is what I really wanted :f_thumbsup:

Finally, I'll show you my full graph :f_drink:

Quick update:

Mantas keeps the pace and he's steadily approaching 100$ BR mark, while I am... mhm... I believe the graph of 2015 will speak for itself :f_confused:

So, I have some problems with variance as you can see :badteeth: Probably I'll take tomorrow more easily and will only play NL2, to keep my mind straight, even though it's not very +EV thing to do challenge wise :sifflote:

Yeah, sick variance, otherwise nice challenge and good results !
Will follow, wish you the best. :gl:

@webhunky; yeah, that's definitely not something you want to see very often, at least in your own graph xD But hey, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, right? :f_cool:

@ZapOut; Thanks, mate! I checked your blog too, really touching story. I'm really happy that you gave up drugs and trying to start your life from beginning, definitely gonna follow how it will go for you, be strong!

Quick update:
Sadly, my vacation is over. I won't have time to play 4-5h every day now, from now on I'll only play ~2h, more on weekends if I won't have any serious plans. However, as soon I'll pass all my exams, I'll try to play at least a little bit more, but the work in my 9-to-5 still gonna interfere with any plans to maintain decent volume :f_mad:

Results wise I'm swinging like hell, but at the end still playing nl5 with BR below 100$. Kinda risky spot, I would love to get my BR above 100$ mark as soon as possible to feel more safe and don't balance near the point where I could have to move down to nl2.

Mantas is on break-even period right now too and still didn't reached 100$, so he gave me time to recover, which is really nice :f_thumbsup:

Quick update:
We're approaching 50k hands mark, the first milestone of 100Eur. We'll hit that in the middle of the next week. Also we won't sharing our exact results after we hit 40k hands, so I can't update you until we reach that milestone :f_confused:

I wanted to make an update when we were around 40k, but didn't had much time and now it's kinda useless to do, but to be short, I will tell that I was ~20$ behind at that point.

Hey, guys! It's time to update you with the challenge progression :f_pleased:

First of all, maybe someone knows easy way how in HEM2 you can choose the exact number of hands from the time database was created? F.e. If you have 51k hands, how to show just first, not last, 50k :| We came up with an idea of exporting and deleting that 1k and then re-importing after screenshot is taken. It works, but it's kinda messy thing to do. It would be a relief to find out easier way.

3rd official challenge update (aka 1st 100Eur milestone)

Justas BR after 50k hands: 86,05$

Mantas BR after 50k hands: 128,25$

I won't lie, we couldn't stop laugh when we compared our EV winnings and the actual outcome :f_biggrin: Sadly, Mantas had more reasons to laugh, he has won first milestone after all. But that's just the beginning, I'm pretty sure I'll manage to catch him :f_ugly:

It's also very nice that our volume is kinda similar, it took me 2 days more to hit 50k, but that's not much when you compare how many days we already played :f_grin:

___________________________________________________________
Mantas -> +100Eur
Justas -> -100Eur

  • 3x100Eur milestones (100k, 150k, 200k hands) left
  • Main 500Eur bet (250k hands) left
  • Total 800Eur left

Pretty nice results. Looking forward for more updates =)

@webhunky; definitely! :badteeth:

@RaucheCh1987; Mhm, actually I'm not happy about my nl5 winrate, even when you look at EV bb/100. I believe it's easy to achieve 7-8bb+/100 winrate here. But the sample is too small to determine exactly how it's right now, one good session can change your bb/100 by 1-2 points, so its meaningless to think about that too much :f_grin:

@Sadaus; Thanks, mate! The updates will definitely come sooner or later, we're not looking to cancel the challenge :f_thumbsup:

Looks like fun blog..
will be keeping an eye on the progress!
Good luck guys! ZOOM is the best, isnt it :f_biggrin: :f_drink:

and stop running so bad, GL!

@ZhiCheng; thanks, mate! :f_drink: Yeah, zoom is awesome, recent days I can find max 1h to play poker and with zoom, only 2 tabling, I still can play at least 500 hands a day. It would be impossible to maintain any volume right now in regular tables for me. Sadly, there isn't much we can do about running bad, but we're trying! :roto2:

Quick update:
It was long time after my last update, but as I said it's because in these days my volume sucked hard. Only today I reached 60k hands, while Mantas has almost 80k... :sorry:

I asked Mantas to make a screenshot @75k hands, so I'll make official challenge progression update when I'll reach that too :f_grin:

But there is some positive news too. Last week I made a decision to leave my 9-to-5, and this week is the last, while I'm still working :f_cool: It made sense to find a regular job while I was camping on sofa at home all day long, but now this job interferes with my plans in poker badly, so I had to do this. I had a great time there, it brought back my motivation to play poker also I had superb colleagues and I'll really miss them, but 300Eur/month salary just can't hold me any longer there :f_mad:

So, it would be a new-old stage in my life and I really excited about it :f_love: Gonna show you some decent volume soon, something similar to those days we started this challenge about month ago while I was on vacation and I hope it'll help to catch Mantas at least volume wise asap :f_thumbsup:

Edit: I feel bad about missing updates for so long, so at least I'll tell you that Mantas still play @ nl5, he had some rough days :f_wink: I don't know exactly how much money he has right now, but he's preparing to take a shot @ nl10. I'm also passed that psychological barrier of 100$ and at least playing nl5 with 20+ BI's right now :f_grin:

subbed,

still don't know why nobody shoots NL10 with 100+ bnr ??? Whoever does this first wins. I mean if I got it right there are no rules on BRM, so why in the world you don't play with 10bi's at micro stakes? GO TO NL25 fast and win the challenge. You're welcome. :)

Nice challenge btw.

@FFRRAANNKKIIEE; thanks for subbing, mate! My thoughts was almost the same about micro limits and aggro BRM in them, actually I was planning to take a shot at NL10 when I had 120$ in my BR , it would have been 2 BI shot and rebuilding if I fall below 100$ (kinda the same I did with a shot @ nl5).

However, it took me all January to go from 100 to 120$ (I'm really now at the peek of my BR with 122$ in it).

I would make a shot at nl10 right now, if I would have a possibility to maintain a solid volume, sadly I can't right now. But I will soon :f_thumbsup: I left my job already, but the new semester starts at uni, so I'll try to attend as much as possible lectures in the first week, need to find out what lectures are important and what aren't, also I missed my friends from uni :f_rolleyes: so we're having a party at my place on Friday with them too :f_drink:

As you can see, this week will be kinda messed up. I'll try to play as much as I can, but my priorities are elsewhere, so we will see how it will go.

When considered all this things I thought that it would be better to stay @ NL5 for this week and IF I'll have at least 120$ by the end of the week, I'll make a shot @ NL10.

Mantas, on the other hand, didn't felt any pressure from me in the last weeks, so he chose more conservative way to manage his BR. I would have been probably made the same choice if I would be in his shoes right now.

No matter how good are you (and we are not even crushing NL5, so I wouldn't say we are very good) 10 buy ins is a really risky way to climb up, if you're leading the challenge you just can pass this risk to your opponent, if he'll succeed, you have no other choice but to follow him, however if he will fail, you're gaining even bigger lead by virtually doing nothing. However, if you're behind or you're both having almost equal BR's, you have to take these risks to gain an advantage or at least to catch up.

Finally, Mantas is close to 90k, and we're not sharing our results right now, because it would be kinda unfair if I would know exactly how much $ he has when I'm so behind in volume. However, I do know what he had @ 75k and that he fails to collect enough $ for his nl10 shot. So I can guess that he's around 200$, maybe a little bit below, because I just can't believe he won't make a shot to NL10 with more then 20 BI's.
