Micro Stakes Advice

I think that micros are not that easy as they used to be, so that you can simply wait for value hands and have high profit. You also have to fold vs value heavy aggression and recogniue using stats who is value heavy.
Also to bluff vs guys who fold too much vs specific agression using stats (there is a lot of profit in this, e.g bluff cbet flop, bluff vs missed cbet, 3bet, steal blinds ...
Also most of casinos are full of bots, who dont play super good but dont tilt and dont make big mistakes (no spews). So generally best is to play on stars to avoid bots (stars also have bots, but less due to protection)

First of all, if you are just starting, why are you in NL10?
Even if you can play there, I would keep the bankroll, play NL2 for a month, same withNL5 the next.
Phil Gordon is well outdated, there are so many books now.
I would suggest Ryan Fees as it is free, there is mbml's books and although never read them, it looks good valure for money or maybe no bullshit 6max( this last one helped me a lot for start at 6max).

If you are educating your self about poker, it is better that you quit microstakes. Invest more money and play at some stakes where skill matters more than luck.

But wasn't Ryan Fee's book around since dinosaurs as well?

I recommend just joining coachings here, posting some hands.... asking questions... but most of all, drop down to nl2 and play play play. The more hands you play the better experience you will get. But seriously, play nl2 even if you have the roll for nl10+. Unless you like depositing!

I stopped playing for a few years and have come back for some fun, I was okay microstakes player before always made money but struggled for a while till I started watching videos here. Confidant91's beginner videos turned my game around and made me much sharper. Still in just two weeks, back to winning and building my stake to get to 25nl. Watch the videos here and I bet your game will turn profitable right away.

I think the 5 nl on Bovada which are anonymous took me a while to get used to playing again without hud or other aid. The Big Stack Strategy works well on this limit and I am beginning to identify player types without use of hud. I find the zoom type poker on Bovada has a mix of tough good players and fish, I can avoid the better players on the regular games by looking for tables with lots of less than full stacks as they are almost always fish, so I prefer regular tables at this point. I find that players do a lot more 3 betting than I was used to, I am comfortable with alot of limpers, more aggressive games I have a lot of trouble with; and am not comfortable 4 betting without a great hand yet.

I'm with you on that one.

Very rarely I will bluff 4Bet if a player has 3Bet an excessive amount (10% or more) over a decent stretch of hands, but most of the time, if I 4Bet I have a hand.

Good point, though every so often you come across a player who is actually playing a short- or mid-stack strategy. But they're not usually around long in either case.
