Villain passive F, aggresive T. Call or Fold?

I believe that check/call flop is standard. Donking is also an option to see where we stand. As played, I believe that bet/folding against this guy is the right play.

Check/call flop might be good against an aggressive player.
Against a passive fish you want to bet your value hands, to get maximum value from all the pairs (even would float here for couple of streets). Also you want to protect JJ from all kinds of broadways getting there on the turn.

If villain is passive on flop we want to bet with our hand. If villain is aggressive on turn we want to x/call.

3bet it preflop...

As played you could donk flop, but NOT to "see where we stand", more just for value - people float donks super wide and JJ crushes his flop range.

As played turn feels like a tough spot. I would expect not so many cbet bluffs on the flop so when he checks back I feel like he's really weak. Turn we could call once and see river, probably call most blanks like non-broadways/:diamond: but it's pretty tough and folding turn probably isn't a mistake. He reps 55 - I think his draws all cbet flop and 55 can legitimately give up on the flop...

we have to decide if he can be bluffing and calldown or not, since this hand certainly ranks highly in our range. i give him credit tbh

I think the most important thing in this hand is to 3bet pre

It's a strange spot but I'm amazed people would fold to the raise. I would've thought he'd have Ax, flushdraw, 65, 66, 77 and even a random 2 overs often enough to call and ch/c the river but maybe I'm wrong.

There's just so many more combos we beat than combos we don't, even if him getting out of line is unlikely
