River overbet turning hand into a bluff

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 5♥: 5♣:
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, SB calls $0.13, BB folds

Flop: ($0.35) 2♣: J♣: 9♦: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.35) 7♠: (2 players)
SB bets $0.15, Hero calls $0.15

River: ($0.65) 4♣: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.70, SB folds

I missed the Overbetting coaching session on Sunday. ♠_cry:
Villain's turn bet looked like a stab on a missed flop, so I called because if so, I had some showdown value.

OTR, I reasoned that if villain does hold :Jx:, :9x: or :7x: (or maybe even 2 of the 3) then I can get the pot with a bluff unless he holds trips or two clubs.

Bet sizing needs to be large enough to fold out those hands. Too small and he can call w/ his pairs.
I recognize he's not likely folding a set, two pair and str8s are unlikely.

Don't think you would've made him fold in case he hits. Turn does look like a stab but against an unknown I'd be C-betting that flop 100% of the time. He wouldn't be stabbing turn and you could re-evaluate after his action on the flop (pretty sure it wouldn't go that far).

Case in point, the way the hand got played out, you'd only get a call at an overbet if he's beating you most of the times, although people @NL5 are pretty crazy imo.

Your betting line does not look like FD (u would have continued beeting with fd as pfraiser), it looks bluffy and in higher stakes even A-high calls

It's more a potbet then an overbet to be honest.

Like your ch behind because this board hits a sb defending range a lot, but is also player dependent.

On the river the question you have to ask yourself is what you are wanting to accomplish/fold out of his range and change your betsize accordingly to that. pretty sure won't fold out Jx most of the time.

Your story is not consistent. You cannot represent the Flush as you missed the flop cbet.
Small PP is a perfect bluff catcher, but as villain is not betting with your huge bet you will fold all hands that you beat already.
