Villain is 28/5 with only 57 hands. Flop & turn are pretty std. I hit fullhouse on the river which probably changes nothing. All it does is help us against other 5x hands. OTR I decide to valuebet 2/3 pot targeting mainly Ax hands. The villain decides to minraise the bet. The only realistic hands that have us beat are AA, KK and maybe A5s. We have no idea how fishy villain is. No reasonable player would ever raise here with a worse hand than ours. Still, can we fold this on NL2?

Yes, Hero is weeping for a bit, then he calls and gets to weep a bit more.

Seriously, are you contemplating folding? You are getting 4.5:1 and hold a full house. Don't be one of those "They always have it here guys". You'd be the most exploitable player ever.

Thank you, sir, for making me feel like an idiot.

What do we do if villain shoves here?

Then it is a lot tougher. You will have A5s/A6s and perhaps even K5s in your range (which I don't know) which are higher up in a bluff catching range. With these hands, it doesn't matter at all since he has either AA/KK or is bluffing here. But you can't fold them all. Call with the highest and fold the worst. It is up to you to decide how much to call.

Yeah it's grim but he only needs AK, Ax or a bluff ~20% of the time for you to make a profitable call here so it's an easy "ffs I call" then lose to KK and get on with your life.

If he has A5s then you have bigger problems than being coolered...

Easy call here. If villain shoved I would probably still call.

I totally agree with the easy call here. Not even thought about folding. Villain has AKcombosand we hold a full house.
Not folding here.

Even if you think that he has AA, KK, or 66, which I don't think he does, you have to call. You're getting over 4 to 1 to call with a full house. I don't know why you're crying or weeping, but you should stop and call.

If Hero doesn't have a great sample on Villain, Villain too has no great sample on Hero.

I'm one of these guys Probably this is still a call because odds and AK but I really hate life when I see the minraise. This is actually much closer to folding than how you make it seem in the comments... I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out we're just never good here.

It's really not. He only has 7 value combos that beat us (AA, KK, 55). With a 5.26% PFR, he's not likely to be raising K5s or A5o even from the CO. Give him a few combos of A5o if you want but I'd be surprised.

That means he only needs to have AK (or be weirdly bluffing, or think he can minraise AQ, or just have misclicked "raise") 21% of the time for us to be good. He needs fewer than two combos we beat and we have a full house on an AKxxx board. You need a serious read to think that a call here is -EV.

I know how combinations work :) The thing is the only hand that makes perfect sense here is AA and after that KK. From then on we have to start making assumptions and hope that he does this with other hands. He might show up with A6, AK or random stuff so as I said call is probably fine. Definitely not happy about it though and there are a lot of players who will never have a worse hand here (so we hope we're not against one of these).

Btw why is everyone saying that we have a fullhouse in their posts? It sounds to me a bit like a fish saying he has AA so he never folds...

Well I apologise but you could have fooled me since you said "I wouldn't be surprised if it just turns out we're never good here" despite acknowledging the crazy good pot odds.

It's hardly a huge assumption to think he does this with AK, which is obviously not in the same category as "A6 or random hands".

Well you see a full house is quite a good hand. It beats top two pair, such as AK, for example.

Anyway, lads, can we just end the thread now? We're all agreed that it's either a hilariously easy call or a fairly easy call. End of.

Yes. I could never fold this hand on the river. I'm just asking if we could do it and the answer is apparently no way in hell. It doesn't matter what the villain had this time, but there's always people who want to know. He had AA.

Good job villain is a fish and got the absolute minimum value out of a boat-over-boat situation.

That's what came to my mind when I read it. How the fish missed value.

Thought exercise - how do we play this hand in villain's shoes?

I think a flop bet is in order, as it's a board we're expected to cbet quite often and it's also the sort of board a lot of regs like to get funky on.
