this is some of the worst advice you are going to get in general, especially for river play, and especially for this spot where villain goes XC XC before XRing.
when someone raises the river even on nl100 they almost always have it, period. then again, "it" in this spot can be AK or Q5s so this is a pretty trivial call. if he jams it's just a fold; again, we don't need to call enough to be unexploitable in this spot and attempting to do so is just massive spew. i would call with quads and nothing else

always checking or a mixed strategy of checking most of the time and betting sometimes (80/20 or something) probably beats the hell out of always betting.
