There s no inverted logic in OP.
Many HU fishes like to do these plays w poor holdings.
Again, AJ is strong.

Big bet = small hand, small bet = big hand is exactly inverted logic. It may work at NLsmall, but it is still inverted logic. It is very dangerous reasoning against good players. Poker is mostly about value. Deception does not play the main role.

To make this blatantly clear: What is the correct sizing for a bluff? Should we make it look like a value bet? Like a bluff?

You maybe did not get what I was trying to say. I do not think that small bet= big hand and big bet=small hand. I think that Big bet= polarized range, like it is.

Let me give you an example of a hand that I played a while ago that is maybe easier to understand. I am overbetting the river in this hand:

BB: 1,294
Hero (SB): 1,706

Preflop: Hero is SB with T :club: Q :diamond:
Hero raises to 60, BB calls 30

Flop: (120) 7  T :spade: 2 :club: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 72, BB calls 72

Turn: (264) K :club: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 150, BB calls 150

River: (564) K :diamond: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 570, BB calls 570

Results: 1,704 pot
Final Board: 7  T :spade: 2 :club: K :club: K :diamond:
BB showed 6 :spade: T  and lost (-852 net)
Hero mucked T :club: Q :diamond: and won 1,704 (852 net)

So the overbet on the river looks like that I'm trying to rep a set or a king by the eyes of my villain.

So my range looks like pure air/nuts when I overbet the river. Because my range looks like this the villain can make a hero call with something like a middle pair (it will win my bluffs). But in reality my range is not air/nuts. Its strong TP hand that wants mid pair to herocall by making them think that I have air or nuts.

So i was thinking that the villain in this AJo hand was using this same logic.

Exactly marsa, big bets polarizes villain's range.
And since fishes are so unbalanced the call w AJ here is good, cause they do these bad blufsf too often w poor holdings in HU that makes the call correct.
