AA flop set vs flop raise

Get it in otf. Any :diamond:card would kill the action. He is almost never folding weaker set or draw vs. 3bet.

Villains x/r on the flop is big. Weaker sets, 2 pair and draws are possible. I would re-raise here. Since you just called OTF I would at least shove turn. We have to protect vs draws, we get value from weaker sets, 89 is the only hand that got there and we still have decent equity vs that.

Here is a thing about flopping a set of A: It should be played very fast. Why? A flopped AAA always means that there is at least one straight draw. Here, there are a million straight draws. In addition, there is a flush draw. Reraise flop.

On a side note; I recently reread Doyle Brunson's "Super System II". It is absolutely smashing (if you ignore preflop play that has changed with time). If you want to know how to play, say AA, on the flop, the go to that book. His advice is brilliant, and, I bet, is much better than what you'll ever find on PS. The advice on PS is written by people who think they are Doyle Brunson, or want to be him (but perhaps younger). Doyle Brunson is Doyle Brunson, and his advice is not at all dated (except for preflop). The idea of always playing AAA fast is from that book.

Okay, thanks for the first input guys! Reraising makes alot of sense. I think i was just too greedy and fearing I would scare him away.. but I need to find a good balance between greed and protection of my hand

Well, sometimes you will scare him off. But the times you get his stack will compensate for this and more.

We should not be worried about scaring him off. If he is to get scared then he will run no matter what you do. Here we talk of taking value if possible. Agree that we should get it in OTF.
