I think I would raise OTF but it is not terrible as played.
OTT better hands are possible and it is still multiway, SB bets pot and BB calls. I think fold is fine.

This is not only a "low variance decision". We are most likely behind so fold is good.

We cannot fight for every pot. Especially when we are behind.

I didn't notice that tbh, might have considered raising on flop, although I myself don't rebuy instantly when I fall under 100bb so as to trick some regs to think I'm fishy player. Hand played out like this:

Any thoughts about protecting better at the flop? SB could be betting with Kx or QT or T9, so we have a good reason not to call, but to protect our overpair against draws. Additionally, it might give us the opportunity to check behind on turn to keep the pot smaller in case a scare card shows. You don't get any additional value from draws anyway on turn and river.

As played, the player really doesn't know better how to play on turn, because SB makes another bet.

If SB & BB call and donk again on turn, it's still an easy fold.

We can think of a raise on flop tho.

Bad strategy. You have less room to maneuver and it affects your strategy. For example if you fall under 100bb set mining gets less profitable.

Not so wise, man... You cannot fool a decent reg...

The most likely explanation for SB's bet is that he wouldn't like to see this go check-check-check. KJ and 77 matches this, so I'd hesitate to raise on the flop, even though things like KQ and QT are possible.

This is MW and my standard line would be to donk almost any hit to protect my hand. Donking multiway has good fold equity and I don't want other guys to see free cards. If I was the villain I might play like this with Jx.

Donking mw is fine not only for the FE. It is ok to make them pay as all villains play scared mw.
