note: he was mr/call 3bet in UTG w 67o, donking 1/3 flop and turn w GS

I hope my preflop 3bet was good, to isolate loose opening fish.

After flop I had plan to go allin, but not sure what would I do if he would raise on flop or on turn. My plan was to bet bet bet.

On river he bets himself, I snap raised.

His bet might be stronger, but we know he is agro. Are we folding? He could do that with anything.

If you want to isolate him, make your 3b bigger - 3-4x. With the small 3b you invite all other players to join.

The population read on the micros show that xc,xc, donk pot is a strong line and I would not call the donk with our hand.

Playing against fish is nasty and this type of suckouts happen. I think you might have overplayed this one a bit.
Vs passive calling station betbetbet would work but now that we know he is aggro, should we let him bluff us?

I have position on him, so I think 8 bb vs 3bb raise was enough, I see some players do even smaller IP.

He had oportunity to bluff flop and turn, but since he didn't I think no need to risk to loose one street of value.

The problem with your 3bet size is that he will call it too often and everybody at the table knows that. You want to isolate the fish to yourself = you want everyone else to fold. If you 3bet small and other guys know that fish will call it, they will call it too because they get good price.

You kept the aggression so he is not so likely to bluff. And if he is aggressive and now plays passive, is he slowplaying a monster? You have only a top pair good kicker. Fish will hit sets, 2 pair and straights sometimes also.

Man, totally agree with la55i. You can do this small-3b-stuff if you are up against a competent player. As you want to isolate a fish , you should do it bigger. With your small 3b you invite everyone else to join and guess what, your hand is not good for mw pots.
Plus, if someone else has info that UTG is a fish, he can easily cold 4b you and you will lose your money just like that.

I also think you overplayed the hand a bit. We can bet 2 streets for value here but river should be a tight fold. pre-flop play is indeed well explained above.

Ok, then you are the BTN let say, what would you call in this situation? Ok, I see big stacks, so those could setmine, but even if I 3bet 9bb they could setmine.

But if assuming 100 bb stacks, what would you call in BTN after 3bet like this?

I usually myself do not call anything here. And even with PPs for setmining - fish might 4bet and I have to fold my PP, which I do not like.

On river also it looked - ist only half pot, but might be true that I had to fold becuase its river and c/c c/c donk line - big pot.

Also what made me want to go allin with TP its 3bet pot, so kind of felt in 3bet pot TPGK vs fish is the nuts.

It is ok to go AI but this is valid until fish starts betting.
When fish bets big your TP may not be good anymore.
And don't fall into the trap - he is a fish, he has a weak hand. FISH HAS STRONG HANDS TOO. :)

About 3beting vs fish I have saved another example with K9s. And mbml stated that min3bet is good.

Maybe its because it is suited.

If I was BTN and I see you 3betting a guy who calls any 3bet, I know you 3bet him wide. I would call of 4bet with very wide range. We don't have to be scared that fish 4bets us. If he calls 3bets with 67o, he doesn't have a 4bet range (well he can 4bet AA,KK).

In the K9s example fish is in CO and you have ultimate position. So it is totally different story.

I'd postpone to river with the second barrell.

I'll avoid to guess villain's hand here, but the mistake (whether you won or not) is the "snap" part. The same people (like me) that can spend days, weeks, and months thinking and debating about whether to 3-bet 3x or 3.5x in a preflop spot (never more than a 0.05 bb decision) will make 50 bb, 100 bb, sometimes 200 bb decisions on the fly when the big bets come.

Unfortunately the river is a fold. It is just very difficult for him to have a lot of bluffs in his range. And the problem is that since he is a fish he can easily be calling your small 3-bet with hands like A2, A3, A5 and A9, all of which beat you at showdown.

interesting. You think this is 2 streets of value on this board I guess.
I still think I want to bet because its a loose fish, 80 vpip. He can have lot of aces and so they pay off. Plus various draws.

Just need to fold if he shows agression.
