UTG+1: $1500.00

CO: $1500.00
Hero (BTN): $1500.00

Pre Flop: ($45.00) Hero is BTN with 9 :club: 9
3 folds, MP2 raises to $90, 1 fold, Hero calls $90, 1 fold, BB calls $60

Flop: ($285.00) 5  4  5 :diamond: (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $250.00, BB folds, MP2 calls $250

MP2 checks, Hero checks

River: ($785.00) 2 :club: (2 players)
MP2 bets $510.00, Hero calls $510

i found it strange he didn't cbet. so i played the hand cautiously . i doubt i could have played it more safely and i know i should have reraised preflop...

btw it was a turbo tourney

i would reraise with 99 only if i KNOW he is a lose fish.
but in the first round you can never know so coldcalling is the best you can do.
you have position good implied odds so call and see what you can get.

this is a good flop for you.
and i like the size of your bet.

the turncard is a true blank. no hand fits the action with the 7 helping it, so its a good chance you are ahead here.
if he slowplays a high pair its hard to get away now.

if you check behind now, he can easily bluf you on the river.
so if i check THIS turn, im willing to call a good sized bet on the river.

but most of the time i would bet out 450, facing a tough decission if he goes all in

as played i would call the riverbet. your getting good odds and the checne he is bluffing is good because of your turn check.

i like yor line here. its totally ok, altough betting on the turn is a good option too.
