Preflop, flop and turn action should be standard. Would you bet the turn a little bigger to protect against flush and straight draws? I opted for that sizing because I felt that this would build the perfect pot size to shove the river.
At the river however, the backdoor-flush gets there so I decide to slow down. Would you push here anyway against all the weaker aces in the donkey's range?
Of course the mule instantly shoves after my river check. With a feeling of increasing disgust I call anyway, just thinking stubbornly: "No, the mule did not just suck a runner-runner flush in its nastiness against you". Important notice: My opponent was obv. not one of the regulars known to me but a random donkey. Was my rivercall a pure spew here anyway? I have a feeling that spots like this happen far too often. I do not get all the chips into the middle before the river and then some ugly card appears and as soon as the disgusting donkey smells a little weakness it immediately jams in all its chips in its outstanding braindeadness. Do you think the donkey has me beat here too often to justify my river call? Or do you think it bluffs often enough or tries to maximise "value" with weaker aces?
After such a disgusting experience I am tempted to shove directly on the turn if such a situation occurs again, thus being at least sure that I am making a +EV play. As this hand ran out, I donated 2/3 of my stack to the donkey when my equity was 0. If I shove the turn, the donkey calls its junky draw and then sucks out, it is of course annoying, but I can be satisfied because I got my chips into the middle as a favourite. What tilts me most about this spot is not the fact that the mule sucked out on me but the fact that it made me spend 1000 chips with an equity of 0.0.
