Hey everybody!
So I have this hand against a fish without any previous story between us.
PokerStars - €0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4: http://www.pokertracker.com
UTG: 100 BB
CO: 73 BB
Hero (BTN): 218.5 BB
SB: 427 BB
BB: 123.5 BB
SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♦: J♠:
fold, CO calls 1 BB, Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, fold, CO calls 3 BB
I think Preflop is rather standard, I raise to Iso and gain some info if he 3bets or even calls.
Flop : (9.5 BB, 2 players) 2♥: 8♦: 8♠:
CO checks, Hero bets 4.5 BB, CO calls 4.5 BB
An OK flop for Jacks, I think he will be folding many times with non Pairs and non Ace Highs, which he will be paying me at least a bet. So this bet is for value and information.
Turn : (18.5 BB, 2 players) 3♥:
CO bets 1 BB, Hero raises to 8 BB, CO calls 7 BB
He leads 1 BB, I find that almost irrelevant as a lot of people in NL2 do this kind of min bets. I raise for value as I think he will be paying, as the noob he is, with some Aces, such as AK, AQ, AJ, and Pocket Pairs. Now that I think about the min bet it could indicate that he as hit his set of 3s and bets for "value" but it is very unlikely as there are only 3 combos of that, opposite to a lot of Aces.
River : (34.5 BB, 2 players) A♣:
CO bets 14 BB, ???
He hits his ace I was putting him on and I am beaten, is this actually a good card as it prevents me from paying to a set or a three-of-a-kind of 8s? I know I have some pretty nice pot odds but I don't see many bluffs in his "fishy" style even though I have not much info as sample size is too small. What do you guys think, good fold or too nitty? Did I spew some BB with my raises?
Spoiler
fold
CO wins 33 BB
Cheers!
