Hey Guys,

i will build my BR from $10 to hopefully $1000 soon (if i dont make it with the free $2 i got by tokens). - I have tryed it before (3 weeks ago) and failed mostly because of my poor disclipine. - For example i played alot on my phone or didnt follow any real strategy. On the other side i learned with that bust. I undestood that it is real theoretical learning and work that these lessons have to be used to make someone really understand them.
This week is a turning point for me, i reduce my bad habits and started doing things wich will be good for me. Im going to the gym and eating more healthy since about a month and now i feel like im liking it. I shouldnt have played at this time maybe but i enjoy poker and nothing could hold me back from playin a round or two.

My plan will be to...

  • Learn 1h a day: Going trough Pokerstrategys articles and watching content fitting my limit.
  • Play 1h a day: Use Tableselection*, follow confidants beginner course (2017) and work on recognizing tilt, luck and skill.
  • Review my sessions: Post some hands and understand
  • Be more active in the forum: I can learn alot by you guys. And update this Post
  • Stay sharp:I will only play on my PC, learning and playing will have its own given time every day and i will not disturb myself. On that i want to avoid these situations where i sit on the tv and play mindless on the phone.

On this first post i will update my progress in short, so you guys dont need to work through old posts if you join in new. (Yes i actully want this one to go long.)

Here you see my current stats before playing my first hand of the $10. Just check the Spoilers.

As you can see, i played very poorly through my first 7k hands. No strategy just play by feeling mostly.

I learned the fundamentals about position but i havent used them right yet.

So of course this leads to a not so good graph. No real showdown winnings. Bluffing worked good because i did it mostly on very tight people. But still, when it works i won just a little bit, but lost alot when not obviously >.<

So guys here you will find my weekly updated BR:

28.08.2017 - got a $1 cash bonus. Before i cash in i will play one table with it. Maybe i dont need to cash in.

28.08.2017 - Day 1. "No "real" play."

I have been more learning than playing today. Please take a look at my hands.

  • Learn 1h a day:
    I worked trough the "No-Limit Strategy Section", Also copied the ORanges from Confidant and wrote down in short how to proceed postflop after confidants guide. Rest of week i want to get into the basics again, relearn everything. Next step will be training Equitys with Equilab, to get a better understanding of chances.
  • Play 1h a day:
    Since now i just played the $1 dollar i had yesterday night, lost it and it was late, so i decided to play tomorrow more.

29.08.2017 - Day 2. "Play by the rules."

I totaly forgot about the VIP program on 888. I had enough tokens to redeem a $2 cash bonus. Since i still want to gain my BR without investing to much from my own wallet, i will try to start this by these $2. Cashing in is still possible but not necessary yet.

Today i will also go to the casino with 100€ in my hands. I played already two times there and won one time 400€ and the other time about 50€. - I kinda feel confidant but not to much. I will pratices the opening ranges from the BSS for today evening and play a very tight style since i dont have more money to play with there. (And people like to gamble at this place.)

  • Learn 1h a day:
    Today i watched the video contet for Confidants Course (Part 3). I didnt made any notes but gained alot of "ahas" while watching him playing. For tonight cant turn up the light to write something. Later this day i will write down the opening ranges on a small paper that i will take with me. :-D

  • Play 1h a day:
    I played the hour. Since i wanted to practise the opening ranges, i played Snap/Zoom.

    This time i went very well i believe. I played (23/13) while playing as much as i can just by the beginner course. I made $1,5 in that one session, wich feels good for me. The only two times i lost big was when i played outside the course. For example a bad bluff on a K7K board, of course the guy had the K after calling my first raise, but i raised him on turn and river again. I really thought he didnt made the king, it was a big mistake. On micros there will be not much bluffs and people wouldnt call without a K or at least the 7 on flop.

    1.Hand K7 SB steal: I think its standart but i want to confirm again. He called my raise and therefore i give my bluff up. But on turn i actully hit, still go for the check since he called me on flop. Now the thing i feared came, a bet. What would you have done? Would it be clever to reraise him here? - To be honest im not sure on the one side it would suprise him ofc but on the other its not a good story, since we bet on flop and then just check. Are check raises that common on lowstakes and do people actully see them as strenght or a weakness? - Pls help friends!

  • Stay sharp:
    Proud of me that i actully stayed most of the time within the rules. And it gave me winnings. All i played for was straight forward wins. There were situations where i wanted to slowplay etc, and that would have worked sometimes but i stayed solid. - first time i really feel that ABC is not bad for beginners. To confirm that: The two big times i lost was by bluffs (read above).

30.08.2017 - Day 3. "Live Play"

Wow, Casino was tough. I went there with friends and had a pretty fine Game on a 2-2€ table. I only had 100€ so i was the shortstack just at buying in. I think the players on weekdays are generaly better (alot of strategy talk there). Well at the end i lost it all. Since no raise by me could help me steal all i could do was playing push/fold. I went allin with 77 after a raise by the most loose player. MP called me, raiser folded. Dam dam dam. 77 vs AK and lost by that UUUFFF hated king on turn. - Yet i felt like i could do better when i had more cash. Ok for now on no Casinovisits.

  • Learn 1h a day:
    Have been watching and reading alot about liveplay before i went to the casino. Tbh. couldnt use anything or find any tells since i was to nervous.
  • Play 1h a day:
    Well i survived for 2hs on the table with ups up to 15BB but thats it, everytime i won i was blinding out that winnings again.
  • Review my sessions:
    Dont play live without the BR. That money was for fun, i didnt go to make any money or with my last coin. But yet i hoped i could turn something out of it. In the end its a 100€ less. Wich could have been used for online poker or whatever even games or food.
  • Stay sharp:
    Well i stayed within the ranges from the BSS and played very tight until i went stupid and gone push/fold. Now i know i should have just stood up and tryed it another day with more Buyin. - afterwards your always more clever.

    So for "tomorrow" or let me say today. I will work through lesson 3-4 and start memorizing the opening ranges.

31.08.2017 - Day 4. "Short Grind"

Today it was challenging for me to fold alot of hands. But im feeling im becoming more and more confident with staying within the strategy. Today i didnt had much time to play.

    Opening Ranges (also while playing having them open)
    Adapting the play (not really used on table except one guy i knew that was supernity so i widen up and actully won from him)
  • Play 1h a day:
    Played on 3 tables with my 3 dollars. Won on one lost on one and got breakeven on the third.

    Iam happy to play the ranges now. Discipline is getting better and better. I knew i wont become a soldier in a day, i still tend to play outside. But i am becoming better at it. All i needed was a good session following it. Even beeing breakeven like today is np for me. Im glad i stayed within the "rules" mostly. Ide say 90% of the time. The one time i lost a allin, that was just very very poor played by me.

Did you split your 3 tables up with 50 BBs each. If so, please remember that the BSS presented by confidant91 assumes that you should always have 100 BBs. Also playing 3 x 50 BBs or just single tabling 100 BBs (with room for auto topup) has a very high risk of ruin.

Playing freerolls is a great way to help keep that BR above water until you have enough to play with standard BRM.

It was on 888 so i culd buyin with the maximum 50bb wich is $1.

Freeeolls? Yes i should keep an eye on the schedule for these. I check always for them when i play. But now ill try to fir my sessions to freerolls everyday aswell.

Im not at my city i will update tomorrow.

888 has the softest and fastest freerolls that I can remember playing. Unfortunately I am unable to play at 888 anymore due to local legislation, but they used to have super turbo freerolls that had 25 minutes late reg and yet you would be ITM in forty minutes.

I built up a $25 roll just from playing those :f_love:

1.09.2017 - 3.09.2017 - Day 5.-7. "Visiting Family"

Hey guys, this weekend i had no possibility to play any poker. Since my PC was about 100km away. I visited my parents and went out alot. For me its special, since i havent been outside alot the last weeks. I feel like i was sleeping all the time, missing all that reallife action out there. It felt good and somehow motivated me to play poker even more!

@Lazza, i will focus much more on these now. a better BR will make cashgames easier for me too.

  • Learn 1h a day:
    TBH there was no learning. All i did when i had time, esp night in my bed on phone. I just watched some youtubevideos about how to play certain hands in the microlimits. Like "how to play AK"
  • Stay sharp:
    Getting my laptop fixed is my priority right now. Since i will go to my parents city almost every weekend, and weekends are were money is made, i have to fix it to be able to grind always. Also the setting of their garden and that much MUCH more nicer city than the one i live in, will make it a pleasure to grind there outside. (Thats what i like, i loved it to learn outside too when i was younger. Sometimes put my PC on the balcony and played WOW)

Ah sorry for friday, i thought i find time but i had to hurry and didnt wanted to play with stress.

So i will start my next session now, since im already done learning im ready!

4.09.2017 - Day 8. "Playing with the tablet?"

Today i tried myself with the 888 Poker app on my sisters tablet. - Since i didnt wanted to lose i preferred playing zoom without any hud. Worked out great, after about an hour (~250 Hands) i won 2,48€

  • Learn 1h a day:
    Watched Confidants Course for an hour, couldnt do more had to cook...
  • Play 1h a day:
    On the Tablet this time, for about 55mins.
  • Review my sessions:
    I played really good, without the opening ranges open i could play by memory. Ya maybe i went to loose sometimes but only against guys ive seen folding to any 3bets i did. I couldnt pay attention to all but there were 3 players i thought i knew pretty well.
  • Stay sharp:
    Ya it was fun on the tablet. Kinda diffrent, it was very confortable to just play one table zoom. I think i will go with this on my pc aswell.

04.09.2017 - 10.09.2017 Day.9-14 Break

Hey i suddenly got a place in a company i wanted to work for for a long time. Have used all my manhours for that. Now im almost "in" it, wich means i can go back to poker again. This coming week i have a strict dayplan wich will help evolving learning habits.
