Had a great day all together.

Well started out bad on stars, was down about $15 from SnG's tried some DON's, i dont think they're for me. Then played a $5MTT with no cash.

Decided to go back to work on NL2 a little bit. Had a great mini session. Around 200 hands i think up 9 BI! The graphs on the mac partition, i'll post it later.

This evening decided to play on mansion. I hate it there and am basically just trying to clear the $50 we had been given there, so I could cash out. Playing NL2 just wasn't going to work for this. So I decided to try NL10 SSS, just for the mansion points because when I thought about it. Since you get points for hands you're dealt in, even if you don't put any money in the pot. HUGE chance for points for SSS players, if anyone here plays SSS take up the opportunity for the mansion extra $50. Anyways, I started winning big. heres the graph

My BR started at ~$57 I believe. Ended at $120.08 after this 1.5k SSS session. Also with a $10 part of my bonus that i unlocked. So can't really complain too much!

So been awhile with no update. So far cleared the capital on mansion. with around $140. Kept playing SSS on NL20 there but had a huge almost 20 BI downswing, and just with how tight the tables have been there I'm waiting for my cashout, not even going to try to clear the remaining $60 bonus dollars I have in the account from deposit bonus. While I was waiting for that I saw another thing at an Ipoker skin, which is $10 free with $35 bonus dollars in the account. Kind of a pokerstrategy type thing. I decided to wait to play on stars with the $150 or so I have there until I get the mansion money. So took the $10 deposited $10 that I had sitting around in moneybookers and thought I'd try to clear it. Not taking super serious BRM because its kind of just a for fun buffer while mansion does their super slow thing. Was playing SSS 10 just to try to get the points to clear . I think I'm going to try to play some SnG's because for ever $1 rake is 40 action points there. So I'll try some of those and see how they go. Maybe the double or nothings? I'm really not sure.

What would you guys reccomend?

I'm currently at $16.61 with 127.5 AP out of the 2100 needed got some ways to go!

So just played about 10 Sng's. Busted out of all til last 2, and only had $5 something left in account and wasn't really too confident in myself, and then got a 2nd and first in those last 2, bringing me back up to $13.81. Not great, but could be worse! However earned about 80 AP's. So am about 12 Sng's away from $5 bonus unlocked. I'll keep you guys updated!

Good luck on clearing your bonuses on there.

You only deposited $10 on that site, you could have gotten so much more bonus dollars if you had waited for your mansion money.

This other ipoker skin your on, I know what site it is but haven't done the $10 free offer on there yet. I hope that I can hit this site sometime this year.

How is the play there? Are the NL cash tables really fishy? Can you tell me if alot of fixed limit action is going on there?

Best regards,

Matt.

Yeah but the thing is I want to put it on stars. Don't want to have to wait to clear another bonus. I left $60 bonus dollars on at mansion, but I might go back to play sng's to clear that. Not sure how long that'd take. Its at vcpoker. Its same as all the other ipoker sites. I've only played NL FR 2 up til 20. Fairly tight. The sng's aren't too hard at $1 level. But no FL yet. We'll see!

The $10 was just to do something in the meantime until I get back to stars!

So had a pretty good day! Played 2 sets of 8 and one set of 9.

overall,

Busted- 14 (bubbled 1)
3rd- 3
2nd-2
1st- 6

Br's Up to $32.01 after unlocking a $5 bonus. So about $15 profit over 25 Sng's, which isn't too shabby I don't think. So can't complain!

Will be alot of poker tomorrow so I'll write longer post then! :)

Meh. Kinda blah day. Was rainy all day, and no class on mondays, so basically played poker most of the day. Started out with a set of SnG's on VC poker. Busted out of almost all of them. No firsts or anything too exciting to tell.

Did get my cashout from mansion today which I deposited onto stars. I'm trying to decide what i'll play there. I think I'm going to play a large sample of both SnG's (STT or 45 man's im not sure!), and SSS. I'll decide from there with what I'll stick with for the time being. Today I was pretty sharp and lots of energy so decided to play SSS multitabling. Put in 3 sessions of 1k hands. Had big up the first session, and 2 downs the second ones, putting me pretty much breakeven.

Kinda sucked, was up big time, then lost big time. Although I didn't feel like I was playing bad at all. I was proud of myself putting down JJ and AK to super tight players a couple times. Not letting myself say, meh im one seat away from being in the right position to call its ok. I was pretty confident with how i was doing, but things didnt seem to work out. So not really sure what to do. I was playing on NL10, to make sure I was doing ok for NL25, although I'm way overrolled for NL10 sss, more than 100 BI, any advice for how much I should play to make sure I'm ready to move up, etc?

So VCpoker BR- $23.61- (-$7.50)
Pokerstars BR- $230.38 (+$6.10)

grrrrrrrrrrrrr bad end to good day! F$%^in pissed atm, write about it tomorrow. Let you all see what a donk i am

so yeah, about last post, had had a pretty good day. Decided to play a last session at night. Played like 1k hands of SSS. Nothing that exciting the entire time. Last 5 hands I lost like 9 BI. Prob 3 or 4 to tilt after some ridiculous bad beats along with just being tired. I think first time I really experienced something like this. Hence the pissed off post above.

Next day was swinging like crazy. Had a +$18 session, a -$15, a +$8.... it was ridiculosu. I finally decided to try NL25 just a bit and I think its def beatable. Ended up down one BI but still from what I saw I think its more than possible.

THeennn yesterday ... I discovered the IRC and was talkin to primzi and we decided to enter some low multi table sng's on stars for fun. I ended up playing 27 180 man SnG's. I cashed in 4 with a 2nd a 3rd a 4th and a 17th. From official pokerrankings I had prizes of $148, profit of $87, with a 145% ROI.

I felt really confident about my play throughout it, although I had one HUGE suckout

Hero bets t28478 (All-In), 1 fold, SB raises to t75000, 1 fold

Total pot: t63956

Results:
SB had K, K (two pair, Kings and twos).
Hero had 2, 2 (four of a kind, twos).
Outcome: Hero won t63956

This was quite nice but I think I'm going to train my ICM a bit more and stick with these tournements, with the hand above, yes I was quite lucky, but in general I think this was the only real suckout I had, I believe I played pretty well, although I'm sure I can do alot better

So internet was out for 4 or 5 days before. So not much happening. Played maybe 20-30 of those tournemetns basically breakeven, little cashes, nothing too interesting.

I'm quite interested in SSS still. I talked to gerv some, and had a problem because my trial of pokertracker ran out, so I went to download trial of Holdem manager, and saw the deal, if you deposit and get 400 TP's you cna get a free license. So I signed up this morning, left the computer on datamining almost all morning and then banged it out in 1.7k hands in about 3 hours, playing NL20 SSS. Not much to say, had a ridiculous amount of suckouts. I played about 31 hands that got past preflop and were all in. I ended up losing

JJ vs T6o
QQ vs 88
KK vs A3
QQ vs 99
AA vs JQs
A2s vs T8 (hit nut flush flop freeplay, all in, he hits runner runner full house)
99vs 55
AQvs A7
88 vs 66
AA vs 77

It was rough, when you lose $28.17 which was -9.27 bb/100, but your EV difference for All ins was $25. But anyways, I lost about $30, but will get the hold em manager professional license which is $80. So I made $50 still :) heres the graph with the All in EV as well

I think I'm going to move all my bankroll to everest for the time being. Apparently its pretty soft. I'll clear as much of the deposit bonus as I can, Then head back to stars. :) I think for the time being I'm going to focus on SSS with some of the MTT's on the side. I'm waiting for my withdrawal from Titan, and hoping to be able to get up on everest pretty quickly .

I would highly reccomend the hold em manager deal to anyone with a small bank roll, I did it in 3 hours this afternoon, and hopefully I'll get that license .

So can't complain, although my all in EV says I should be at $66.82 so that kind of hurts. But what're you gonna do. I just decided after I go eat and see some friends for a bit I'll prob play another session, 500 hands or so. And I'll put a graph and full update after that!

So I've decided to move over to SSS SH. I've heard since I started here, everywhere that there was no way to play SSS on SH. So i'm going to try to prove them wrong. Starting at NL25 and going as high as i can! and So far I like it, although it is RIDICULOUSLY swingy, but I believe theres def the possibility for HUGE profit as well .

Session's today had a bit of the bad side of variance, as you can see below in the Graph with the all in as well.

Hold em Manager is great for this because you can see all these stats.

Hands played-> 2559
Money won-> $30.30 (6 BI)
bb/100-> 4.74
$ won (EV adjusted)-> $82.48
EV bb/100- 12.89
BR-> $288.58

So thats kinda frustrating to know that I "should" have won $50 more. But I'm just glad I was still positive for the first day. I made mistakes as well, and could have played alot better, although I'm starting to figure it out more.

I'm just about rolled for NL50, but I think I will wait until I play at least 20k hands of NL25 to make sure I'm comfortable, and getting the feeling for this, although we'll just see. Time will tell :)

If I move up, since its so swingy, i'd set a loss of probably 5 BI, before I'd move down, and grind back up. But instead of waiting for 40 or 50 BI, i'll try with 30 once I'm comfortable, but make sure I'm disciplined enough to move back down if things don't work out.

Had a pretty chill day, watched flows play some SnG's, pretty high stakes was fairly interesting. He doesn't think my SSS SH will work out, and if it does over like 100k+ hands, I get free coaching . I tried to make a small bet with him, $10 or something just for an incentive, but free coaching was all we got out of it :P.

Also last night I started a MTT $1 4k person donkament, to keep myself somewhat interested, while doing some stuff for jobs this summer, and school next year. Was just messing around, playing LAG to amuse myself, wasn't taking it seriously, but got a fair middle size stack. Then in 3 hands had AK KK and AA in a row. Tripled up all 3 times, after playing so LAG, people paid me off every time, and I found myself in 2nd with 600 players left. I kinda freaked out , wasn't sure how to play. So turned to cardbender who I'd seen around the IRC and railed a couple times. Got some advice in IRC while playing, freaked out a bit cuz i was so excited. And ended up busting 50th or 60th for a well earned $6, only took 4.5 hours to earn it!

But back to today,
So I only played about 400 hands. But had a pretty good return. Heres the graph for today.

played about 150 hands with some good profit, and then another session, which i started off GREAT. at the peak of the graph I was running at 76bb/100 for the day, which is just ridiculous. The last 30-40 hands, where I drop 3 BI there was this super LAG player. I see him calling everyones all in with air. hes like 40/35 , which is amazing for me yet, everytime I finally got a hand to play him, he'd call my reraise and have something. I'd see him play like 10 more hands with ridiculous stuff, get to me, got JJ's, perfect, no, beat by Q9o. So was kind of rough. Finally just left the table. There was also this hand which got me kinda frustrated.

Turn: ($11.30) 7 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($11.30) 7 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $11.30

Results:
BB had 3, 7 (full house, sevens over tens).
Hero had Q, Q (two pair, Queens and tens).
Outcome: BB won $10.75

Hands played-> 392
Money won-> $26.70 (5 BI)
bb/100-> 27.24 (HOT DAMN)
$ won (EV adjusted)-> $19.16
EV bb/100- 19.55
BR-> $323.94

But yeah, will def play a bit more tomorrow. Thursday I'm heading out to Dublin til tuesday. Will have my computer and wireless internet at the hotel, so prob play a half hour/hour session every day or 2, but no serious grinding. If I play alot tomorrow I'll update then, if not I'll do it when I get back from Dublin!

Also I have the roll for NL50, but seeing how swingy this seems to be, I'm going to play some more here before I decide what kind of BRM i'll use. Probably somewhere between 40-50 BI. But I'll see. Decided I'll play at least 10k hands, then decide!

hi,

how many hands have you played so far (SH SSS only)?
maybe we can talk again about this challenge...
next time, please make sure the graph is working! ;)

I'm sure SH-regulars already hate you!! So keep going and good luck!

How many hands did you play SSS SH and whats your Standard deviation in bb/100 for this sample size?

As the only one I know that is trying SSS SH post this stats on every milestone hand (10k, 20k, ....) to see if it is good to play SH SSS at all...

Thanks, nice to get some responses Wasn't sure if anyone was really reading.

I'm in ireland at the moment, so not playing too much, I've played 3.7 k hands about. And so far I'm running at about 6.36 bb/100, which isn't too bad, but I think it can be better. Standard deviation so far is 47.29 bbs. But with only 3k hands, isn't anywhere close to accurate, I'll have to see when we get closer to 30-40 k.

Kukki, I'll post milestone graphs/winrates/standard deviation every 10k hands or so. Playing will start again on tuesday once i get back, and grinding for a couple days while gf's out of town

OK, that will be nice

if you want I can help you with strategy and any other problems you encounter playing SSS SH. We can make a sweet session to show me how you play and to find way to improve the SH game and to be usable from the average SSS grinder.

Best,
Kukki

On NL50 this will be a lot more informational if this is usuble tru the limits.
I know that ther is some guys that play SSS SH, but I'm not sure at all how good are they and if there is any "systematic" approach to be used from serious grinders.

Don't even start to dream about higher win rate. Probably the highest possible win rate that can be achieved in the long run on NL50 and higher is 4 bb/100 at max 4,5 bb/100.

If we use your SD number and a 4 bb/100 win rate for serious grinding you will need more than 84 buy-ins.

So got back from dublin today. Had an amazing trip can't complain. Although didn't play at all while I was there. Played a quick 600 hand session after getting back. Didn't run so good at the beginning, ran into a ton of aces, and the 2 times I got them got busted. Heres the graph

Hands played-> 630
Money won-> $17.65 (3 BI)
bb/100-> 11.21

BR-> $339.54
