How much do you show hands?

Hello,

Do you think that showing hands (not every single time) is a good strategy to change the way villain thinks about you? I mean like when you do a 3Bet and 4Bet and your opponents folds, show the hands so he can trust you that the next time you do a 4bet with not strong hands, he folds. Do you think this is something personal and someone may choose to do it while the rest may choose not to, or there are ideas behind it whether to do it or not?

I show hands or parts of hands occasionally, but generally not.
The bet you make is the price you charge for opponent to see your hand. Why give it away for free?

If you show him strength, he may not call when you want him to. I would rather build up a strong sense of curiosity.

Playing 5-Card Draw recently I had 3 pat hands (dealt straights, flushes or full-houses) in just a few orbits. The first two I raised and everyone folded post-draw. On the third one, I got 3 callers post-draw since nobody believed I had such a hand.

If I had shown either of the first two, do you think that I would be more or less likely to get paid off?

I'm curious to see what others think.

All the best,
VS
