Hi all,
I played in an MTT 6 player tables at the weekend and I made the money levels (134th finished 121st) but as we made the money level 134th something strange happened (well maybe not strange to you guys)
UTG shoved pre-flop CO called UTG won KJs and got a king on the flop, next hand he shoves pre-flop CO called and he won again had ATo got an ace on the flop, next hand, he shoves pre-flop UTG called and he won again had AJo and got ace on the turn, is this unusual play?

Which hands you shove in a MTT depends a lot on how many big blinds you have in your stack. The lesser big blinds you have, the more hands you need to shove to avoid going broke by paying blinds. Winning 3 all-ins in a row is not that strange. Read some basic strategy articles to get an understanding of this.

CharlotteD nailed it.
If villain had a) a very short stack or b) a very large stack, he can often shove any two cards.
In the first case, if he doesn't do something, his stack is being eaten up by antes, and esp for the UTG spot, in the next two hands he will need to put in 1.5 BB, so shoving KJs is pretty fine.
In the second case, if he has a very large stack, he can induce weaker hands to call, and even if they don't, he can easily out-draw the opposition with hands like KJs ATo or AJo

So -- skill perhaps in recognizing his opportunity, but definitely luck in hitting 3 in a row.

All the best,
VS
