Is 888 taking the p*ss with its calculator?

I am going to make a guess and assume that the discrepancy is due to rounding errors, or perhaps due to the algorithm used to do the calculation.
Equilab gives you a choice of two algorithms -- I didn't check both.

I think it has to be down to poor work in the background, as a formula/code should easily be able to be written to show that the order of the suits is not dependent. even more disturbing is the fact that it gave you different percentages than it gave me, meaning that it has now given four different percentages for the exact same hands with a range of 18.8% to 19.5%.
looks like 888 is beast avoided altogether.

In Equilab you have two choices:
 Enumerate all
 Monte Carlo

The Enumerate all options takes an extreme amount of time if there are a lot of hands, and I don't see this option on the 888 odds calculator, so I assume that it uses some variation of the Monte Carlo method. That method merely runs through millions of hands.
Even in Equilab if you run it in Monte Carlo, and stop it after "only" a million hands or so you get a wide variety of results.

Conclusion:
The 888 tool gets you in the ballpark. It is cumbersome though, and Equilab is free and easy to use.

Like you, I'll stick with Equilab.
