Pokerstars 7.50 NLHE Deep Stacks

4 left

Payouts:

1) 441.61d
2) 259.35d
3) 185.05d
4) 141.84d

Stacks:

CO 17bb
BU 25bb
SB 71bb
BB 41bb

Folded to SB who shoves all in...

Considering stacks and payouts, what is the calling range of BB here?

This is a funky spot. It's not normal to shove for 41bb effective.
It's interesting to know if you have any info on villain and blind level would be nice. Especially the ante could have some influence to the calling range. It makes a decent difference if the blind level is 10k/5k/1k ante or 10k/5k/2k ante.
You can use the NASH ICM calculator to calculate the calling range, but based on the info I know I expect you need to be carefull and call with a tight range.

Villain was playing aggressive and mixing limp/minraise/shove preflop when folded to him.

Blinds were 12.5K/25K Ante 3K

Nash ICM calculator gave the following calling range:

7.5%, 77+ ATs+ AJo+

Which seems a bit too wide in my opinion. MY poker buddy and I are debating on what range should be calling with proposals as follows:

Me: TT+, AQs+ AKo
Buddy: JJ+, AKs

The BB in the hand had AKo and folded which in my opinion is a mistake. My buddy however argues it is not a mistake since second place is almost guaranteed and risking going out 4th is too penalising but I think that's a bit too nitty since villain has a lot of worse hands and if you do win that spot you almost guaranteed winning the tourney.

I have room to fold with this stak.
Sb has chip to bully me with 2 player short I tighten the range of calls in this hand I would only play top range

Well could analyze later with HRC but SB probably has capped range. Also on what logic you have almost quaranteed for second place as shorter stacks still have around 20bb?

Personally, I'm here calling 99+, AQ+, AJs+. If, he shoves second time to, event wider. You not guarantee second place, even if you loose 1 all-in you becoming shortest stack... Don't see point of being super nity when prizes differences are in hundreds not like 50k or something "life changing money".
