At least you got some (or all) of it back.

The and history was easy enough to follow.

One thing that might make a manual hand history easier is to use the card icons.
Find them by clicking the grey spade button above this post windows.
Or to enter them manually, just use the card and suit letters surrounded by colons

Hello Grinders,
was an interesting week, ended up a little bit, nothing special... The week played out pretty well besides last night, had a rough go lost about 300BB last night.. But hey things happen! Week GRAPH... Also keep in mind we played some live cash this week and was about +700. So not so bad a week.

First 2 hands: try similar.
PokerStars - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (UTG): 109.77 BB
CO: 113.08 BB
BTN: 156.89 BB
SB: 111.5 BB
BB: 105.6 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 6♦ 7♦

Hero raises to 2.5 BB, CO raises to 8 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 5.5 BB

Flop: (17.5 BB, 2 players) 4♦ J♣ 8♦
Hero checks, CO bets 8.31 BB, Hero raises to 26.26 BB, CO raises to 105.08 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 75.51 BB and is all-in
Turn: (221.04 BB, 2 players) 5♥

River: (221.04 BB, 2 players) 5♠

Hero shows 6♦ 7♦ (Straight, Eight High)
(Pre 23%, Flop 47%, Turn 100%)
CO shows Q♥ Q♣ (Two Pair, Queens and Fives)
(Pre 77%, Flop 53%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 218.04 BB

Pre- with calling the 3 bet here I am aware villain has a pretty strong range 3 betting UTG- I was just hoping to get some kind of draw on the flop. which I end up getting a GUT buster and flush Draw... I end up being a coin toss, so I good the HIGH variance route.

second hand.

PokerStars - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players

SB: 130.73 BB
BB: 168.3 BB
UTG: 101.5 BB
Hero (CO): 100 BB
BTN: 279.39 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 9♥ T♥

fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, BTN calls 2.5 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (6.5 BB, 2 players) 7♥ Q♥ J♦
Hero checks, BTN bets 6.18 BB, Hero raises to 26.57 BB, BTN raises to 99 BB, Hero calls 70.93 BB and is all-in

Turn: (201.5 BB, 2 players) 6♥

River: (201.5 BB, 2 players) 7♠

Hero shows 9♥ T♥ (Flush, Queen High)
(Pre 41%, Flop 56%, Turn 100%)
BTN shows A♦ Q♣ (Two Pair, Queens and Sevens)
(Pre 59%, Flop 44%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 198.5 BB

little different here is preflop action, just a call from villain so wider range, villain was a 41Vpip and a 32 CC.. so when he raises me flop, and I 3bet him then he 4 bet me all in- the only thing was kinda worried about is that he had high FD draw, but really he could maybe have K♥:J♥: or:Ah:J♥: , so I went with it, worked out..

so this is range I gave him on flop, before all in bet, yes it does shrink with the all in bet..

last hand.

PokerStars - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): 118.98 BB
CO: 100 BB
BTN: 85.16 BB
SB: 153.93 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 3♠ A♠

CO raises to 2.5 BB, BTN calls 2.5 BB, fold, Hero raises to 15 BB, fold, BTN calls 12.5 BB

Flop: (33 BB, 2 players) 2♥ 9♠ 4♥
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: (33 BB, 2 players) A♦
Hero bets 17.01 BB, BTN calls 17.01 BB

River: (67.02 BB, 2 players) 3♦
Hero bets 72.07 BB, BTN calls 53.15 BB and is all-in

Hero shows 3♠ A♠ (Two Pair, Aces and Threes)
(Pre 34%, Flop 15%, Turn 9%)
BTN shows 9♦ 9♥ (Three of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 66%, Flop 85%, Turn 91%)
BTN wins 171.82 BB

so ye biggest play here is river,

reason fro my all in was based on call on turn by villain, I ranged him on Aqo-A8O and A7+s and toss in some flush draws, The all in bet was to target all the A hands, I figured no matter what I bet all FD were folding.... Just didn't work out, wish 3 didn't come would have saved me money I think, as I don't believe villain would have went all in, maybe half pot bet and by the range I gave him I probably would have folded.. but things happen..

wish you all the best of luck and thanks for reading.... KEEP GRINDING!!

Hello ALL

Hope everyone is safe as always. Well week was status quo, down about 70 so nothing of anything major. I really don't have much only one hand to really go over. So lets do this!!

PokerStars - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 138.89 BB
UTG: 70.51 BB
MP: 105.1 BB
CO: 100 BB
Hero (BTN): 127.04 BB
SB: 281.13 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 7♣ 7♥

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, SB calls 2 BB, BB raises to 15 BB, Hero calls 12.5 BB, SB calls 12.5 BB

Flop: (45 BB, 3 players) 6♣ 4♣ 7♦
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets 23.09 BB, SB calls 23.09 BB, fold

Turn: (91.18 BB, 2 players) 3♥
SB checks, Hero bets 88.95 BB and is all-in, SB calls 88.95 BB

River: (269.08 BB, 2 players) K♣

SB shows 5♥ 6♦ (Straight, Seven High)
(Pre 15%, Flop 24%, Turn 76%)
Hero shows 7♣ 7♥ (Three of a Kind, Sevens)
(Pre 85%, Flop 76%, Turn 24%)
SB wins 266.08 BB

Preflop, The BB was a reg stats 22/17/6 his squeeze was a 7 but I only had about 400 hands. Sb 30/19/19CC/5-3bet. fold to 3 bet 14 have 2 k hands.. So I was on the BTN and I was pretty sure the SB was call the raise so in my head I was risking 13bb for a pot of ~45bb about a 4:1 but the implied odds on a hot was tempting as I knew neither player was prone to folding especially the SB..

Flop- good for me, 2 checks and now I was hoping for a BIG PP by 1 of the villains, I didn't want to slow play this as with the FD out there, even with my blocker 7, I would rather to get c/r and get it in right now. Well didn't happen and just got a call. So now I pretty much put villain on a 99-jj and a FD possible a lower set.

Turn-the 3 to me was a total blank, so when I ripped it inI stuck with my original read and was putting villain on a PP, if I showed a big bet he would consider me on a FD or may a OESD or maybe A7s. So I got the call I wanted the only issue was the hand that he played.. I think with any PP I am getting called or it is a very hand lay down for villain to give up an over PP, especially for a almost 100BB pot.

Unfortunate, things happen. Hopefully this week will Give me a bit more to talk about...

Stay Safe all

Keep GRINDING! forgot graphs..my bad. and my redline took. drop..

I guess this hand can be compared with one of those hands I posted in my blog earlier. It's just one of those things that happen sometimes. It's annoying that he just happened to have made his straight. Many other combination possibilities that you beat. So I think this was played well!

yes, things happen, I was actually pretty surprised when it got flipped over, but things happen.. My next goal is to start to come up with some strategies for my red line, see what happens. As always time will tell if it works or not. Thank for the reply.. BE safe

Always amazed by how much you can be ahead when actually having the worse hand at that time.
I wonder if that is the best case scenario or if you could be ahead even further?
I don't mean if villain had Q2 instead of AQ or something like 22 in the first place, but real TPTK.

Yes it is interesting, but normally all suit connectors have minimum about a 38%equity in 3 bet pots preflop which is pretty cool. I mean from 78s up to 109s…. I would also be lead to believe haven’t check that 56s always keep equity, and the hands are very playable if the flop likes you.

If villain had let’s say a QQ he only has really 7 outs, so turn about 28% I believe and then on river no paired turn he picks up 3 more outs for about 20% equity river… I think I didn’t run the number.

He gets extra equity on flop with the A as he can hit the back door str8..

Not all that crazy of a week, didn't really put in the volume I would have liked, work was a little bit crazy. but none the less, I started off pretty good I was up about 3.5Bi the 1.5 k hands then went on to a 6Bi downswing. Was little rough variance wasn't being nice to me.

I will say I did have a moment of tilt issue, for a bout a 5 minute stretch. I did stop playing.

First the hand that tilted ... wasn't anything crazy AA vs KK all in pre villain Flop a K.

this is against a reg who I have tagged as a NIT.

My thought behind the all in river is, I really didn't see the Villain calling a turn over bet with a nut flush draw, after being raised on flop as well. In the end we want that turn call all day long, and I think you jam river( going to look at solver now and post. I think played it fine, but I was tilted as fuck when the club came. I then shut everything down for the day..

yep solver has as a shove, I just don't know vs villain.

Well besides that good luck all,

KEEP GRINDING!!

@aafrancis,
Thank you ..

So grinders here is July in a nut shell. Ended up finishing well, Played some MTTs, which I haven't done for a very long time, made 2 FT..

Now as for cash, Played about 20k hands for the month wish I got some more in but didn't have the time, otherwise I played well, got. a nice little heater as well. Ran a 13.5bb/100 for nl 100 and also about a 15bb/100 for 200nl.

.

Lets get to the hands.. the wins

Pre-Flop, both players are regs.. think he my 3bet raise is standard may I can make it a little bigger, but I don't think an issue.

Flop- my main decision on the flop was to play it fast or slow, the reason why I am saying slow is that villain for the most part doesn't contain and 86's in there, maybe suited but doubtful. So it came down to that would he flat 1010+ or call down with AK, IMO. So I decide to play fast. Once villain put in the huge reraise there was any more decision making to be done. gg

Preflop, total random- 2bet size is fine, once I get flat 3bet for a 3x amount it seemed pretty big to me, once again I had no stats on villain, so I flat called from the BNT. Think this play is fine, maybe a possible jam?

Flop once villain checked I placed him on AK as I figured he would have been excited to bet pot this flop with qq+. once I half potted it and he jams I don't really have a option but to call it off

pre - standard short handed raise.

Flop- on this call against a rec I was looking for any which gave me the nuts or club to continue with on the turn. I figured if I made either hand I could get villain go go all in.

Turn- got lucky and hit the K, I have come to learn that large raise sizing vs pool recs get called a decent amount of time, so I used the information I had and tried the play it worked out for me this time.

Sb vs BB hand
The short answer to this hand, it was a reg that have played against before.
preflop- no issue
flop no issue
Turn- I like the c/r as I have a draw to the second nuts also if I hit a set of 8's I would be playing it this way as well, as for 4's they are kinda in my range but not really.
River- here I could have very well saved myself $80 dollars think a c/c is the play with him leading, I think the purpose of the all in was to get him off KQ if he had it or a Kj but in the end his call on turn is a very strong call, so maybe a little bit of a punt here. Let me know your thoughts?

Alright time for some real work, be safe to all

KEEP GRINDING will try to post more hands during week with some GTO WIZARD spots..

yea the hands are rough but I just love the reactions.. reminds me not so long ago when I was doing that til I got my stuff together. Wasted more time & energy complaining then playing, along with not having any clue of variance,(me) but once i learned and understood it more, it changed..

Wow! Nice giraffe![1]
This is NL 100?

There is one weird spot at around hand 508 where the showdown and non-showdown winnings seem to shoot up both at the same time?
That must be two hands very, very close or something else?

I'm curious!

[1] Nice Giraffe!

Hero shows 9♦ 9♠ (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 55%, Flop 72%, Turn 86%)
Hero wins 225.71 BB

so this one will take some time to explain.

First villain is an very aggressive reg, I have a bunch of hands on him.

So preflop standard up until his four bet, Mt decision that I took some time to make was if I was going to go all in with my hand. I went with the latter so that I new this villain was very capable of buffing off his stack.

Flop- I think a pretty standard call with only one over card, villain very well could have Kx or kk or an 2 diamonds.

Turn- The next 2 cards come down to my same thought process, first it is a 1/2 size pot bet, and second FD doesn't complete and No more over cards.

I tried to put myself in his spot, If I didn't have a king would I bet, HOW much would I bet? and then IF I did have a king would I bet and HOW much would I bet? This is against a villain I have about 18k hands, this isn't a random player.. On the river I almost folded, I only needed to be right 25% of time with this call, and KNOWING villain I went with in instincts.

This is against a rec player.
pre standard maybe 3 bet size little small.
flop- I check as I wanted to keep some monster hands win my hand, and if for some reason he had 55-44 I would hear about it soon, I was hoping for an A,

Turn- villain wasn't playing that aggressive up to this point he did float a few times, I probably should have bet as my hand was worth 3 streets of value on the flop and now with making a boat is worth a lot of value, I believe I was hoping for a flat bet after 2 checks, and I got it. The huge raise was villain showed he didn't fold when he made pairs and once he bet I was guessing he didn't put me on a Q or just wasn't thinking.

River- Once the K came I was thinking of a sizing that would make me 1 look like a bully and 2 that I was trying to but that pot and look like a bluff line, me over betting the pot by 2x put a bucket ton of bluffs in my range ~40% of my betting range. Then I just got lucky him calling with that trash hand... Lets say he got a nice note for whale...

So in the first hand, opponent tossed $240 plus three-barrelling an A-High bluff?
Easy Game!
Did he call you an idiot?

Naaa, no idiot… it was kinda funny, Guy in CO was like “ I can’t believe you just bluffed AJ”. And the BTN guy was like” I can’t believe you just called me down with 99.”

My response “ shit happens.” “Next time you will have a K or a bigger pair then mine.”
