i dont know about NL 2, i would just stick to cbet half pot here and not giving a tell by going bigger. Its always a tell if someone is going for a bigger cbet in 3bet pots.
But i doubt the nl 2 playerpool will pay much attention to tells. Anyway Its not the best flop for AA, and the turn gets more complicated.
Checking behind or bet/fold makes sense. Now the problem is by going bigger in cbets in 3bet pots is that on later streets we have less options by betting small he can check/jam some hands that we beat and we have to fold.
My gameplan for this hand would be betting somewhat 9-7 BBs on the flop and then reevaluate the turn. On this turn i would bet/fold or even checkbehind.
I think you could make a case for checking the flop, I would hate to be check-raised on the board. The turn is a terrible card I would check the turn for-sure as played.
no we are still favourite on the flop vs his 3bet calling range. why would you check ? because we could get checkraised ? then what we can still fold.

poker is about realizing equity, not about burning it.
when the board is wet, it is often better to keep the pot small, get to SD and book a small win, rather then to build a big pot, that can be taken away from you easily.

I think the idea would be that it would suck to have to fold a hand like AA to a check-raise, assuming villain can check-raise some top pairs it may not be a clear fold to a check raise, if we call because of good odds then we are in an awkward position on the turn where there are so many bad cards and the pot is large. I think its better to avoid all of that by just checking behind and seeing what develops.

i never said build a big pot, in fact i said the opposite if you read my first post, by not betting over half pot(or range betting 1/3).
If you check AA here all the time you are burning money by not protecting or valuebetting it, thats just a fact.
Poker is not just only about realizing equity. Thats like saying cooking is all about 1 menu.
You can check here AA with some frequency, but in terms of strategy i would advice to go with high frequency cbet rangebet.

Why would it suck to fold AA ? Its only the best hand preflop. Its only a pair postflop.
By avoiding a c/r on the flop you are avoiding getting value from worse hands too. And if villian has a better hand we still pay him off by calling down.
i think check/fold is ok on turn, cause he will not bet worse, he will check worse hands back and then we can decide the river.
