Unable to withdraw money - Support wont help - is GG Poker a scam?

Hi,

I signed up for ggPoker and made a deposit a while ago and played a couple of games. I have tried to unsuccessfully withdraw money about 4-5 times, although the cashier shows a correct withdrawable amount.

So I contacted the GGPoker support: At first the reason was because I need to deposit money with a payment method which can also be used for withdraw, so I was foolish enough to make another deposit with Skrill, which is available for both deposit and withdrawal.

But the withdraw request still get declined. The support keeps telling me that "I need to play more hands" in order to request a withdrawal. After asking for me details on where I can see any details on rake conditions etc., no one can help me and they just keep saying "play more...."

Has any one made a similar experience? Any ideas? I am very frustrated...

Thanks a lot for your support

Edit:
I used the "First Deposit Bonus" (?) where you had to complete some challenges every day, but i neglected it after a couple of days. I did not use any "double the deposit bonus".

Hi VegasPhil,
The requirement that you wager your deposit amount is common to all poker rooms.
It is part of the anti-money-laundering rules.

Here are GGPoker's Terms and Conditions: https://en.ggpoker.com/terms-conditions/
The withdrawal policy: https://en.ggpoker.com/withdrawal-policy/

The paragraph covering your situation is in the ToC:

Our expectation is that our members will deposit in order to actively play with their own funds. On accounts where this does not seem to be the case, we reserve the right to enforce a wagering amount on your deposited funds, before allowing any withdrawal from said account. This wagering amount will be a multiplication of the total deposited funds, which we will specify depending on the case (for example 1 x the deposited amount). We reserve the right to require this wagering to be performed in specific games, and to exclude certain game types, at our discretion.

I have a similar issue. I played over 2k hands and GGPoker still refuses to let me withdraw MY money. The ToC are extremely vague, letting THEM decide how much you need to play without ever telling me. I asked the support how much more I need to play and they never answered me. I'm fine with playing a certain amount or generating a certain amount of rake to clear a bonus but if the site can decide arbitrarily when a bonus is cleared, that is very scammy...

I mean even the ToC says that they "reserve the right to require this wagering to be performed in specific games, and to exclude certain game types, at our discretion". So you may need to play one of their pure gambling modes instead of actual poker...

The lure you in with their deposit and daily bonuses and then force you to keep playing to get your money back (if ever). I would adivse everyone to stay away from GGPoker until they implement transparent rules.

Their customer service also refers to the terms & conditions of promotional bonuses but I read through all of them and none of them say anything about any requirements you have to meet before you can withdraw those bonuses.

Pretty sure that this even illegal.

Considering that the Terms and Conditions were written by lawyers, they are most likely legal in the jurisdiction that governs them.
That might not necessarily be the same as the jurisdiction where you live.

Part of the problem is that people have become so used to being misled -- by politician, advertisements, sales people and so on -- that we have come to accept that we are being lied to, and trust in general has fallen to extremely low levels.

The biggest and most common complaint about GGPoker is their lack of openness, yet at the moment, they have the largest player pool I know of.

What does that tell you about the people who play there?
I myself play there occasionally, but it isn't my everyday room any more -- but not for the reason we're discussing.
