Finally a winning session, BR is 660$ atm and additional 650$ will be released in a few days.

I'm playing max 12 tables and carefully table selecting, also reduced my aggression a bit to keep the variance down. Doing short sessions to keep tilting under control.

I realized, that it was only 11 days ago when I started to go deeper and deeper under EV, so in terms of time it's actually not such a big deal, despite it was almost 45k hands. July is still +2,25bb/100, thanks to the great start of the month..

Thank you for the support, I hope I don't let my followers down and will still show a good long term winrate shortstacking NL100 :)

Another session as usual: 8$ up and 90$ under EV. LOL-ed when my aces were cracked by 2222 in a 3-way preflop allin. The blue line is raising again as it should, and I don't care about the green line any more. I know that I will catch a huge upswing soon :)

Sorry for posting too often, but it kind of helps to keep my mind clear.

it sucks being under the EV line

hello sm112,

Congratz with your result they are impressive. (I start to be a winning player only now in nl400+).

I have a question about ps, how much rake should I produce to be supernova?

Is it contributed rake or "divide" rake (means as ftp: when you produce rake even if you weren't involve in the hand)?

Thx

Hi PoPoVitch,

It is hard to say how much rake you have to produce. You get VPP-s whenever you are dealt in, you don't have to take any action. You get 1 VPP when the pot is over 8$ (0.40$ rake is taken) and 2 VPPs when the pot is over 60$ (3$ rake is taken). In NL100 I get 1 VPP for every 3 hands played, so it takes about 300k hands to become Supernova. In higher limits you get more VPP-s per hand, my rough estimation is 0.4 per hand in NL200 and 0.5 per hand in NL400 so maybe about 250k hands in NL200 and 200k hands in NL400 till SN. If you start playing, you will pretty soon get to know how much VPP-s you get per hand. I calculated, that as a Supernova I should receive sth like 40-45% rakeback.

Thx a lot, see you on ps then ;)

Hi sm112

If things would go good with SSS would u consider playing SSS on
NL400-NL1k?
Also can u plz explain me the rakeback thing u mean for supernova,is it like fulltilt's or throught the bonuses u buy with fpps?

Great blog btw, keep up and good luck

Cheers

I need the money atm so I will mostly cash out my winnings and keep my roll around 1000-1500$, but maybe I will try higher limits after few months, when I have bought what I need.
The rakeback is through the bonuses, as a supernova you can buy a 1,5k bonus for 100k FPP-s (requires about 80k hands in NL100) or 4k bonus for 250k fpps (200k hands). I should reach supernova after 2 weeks.

Congrats on an Awesome Interview! You officially win the miles below all-in EV bragging rights and so its time to start running well again

Small update.

Running better again, roll reached 1001$ today and also cashed out 500$ to pay the bills. I'm trying to finish inside top250 and top10 English community, so mostly 24-tabling without any stats (due to slow laptop, crashes when PT3 and more than 12 tables are open). Will start 12-tabling with stats right when the month is over. 86k hands this month so far, 4 days left so maybe I could set a record of over 100k, cause I don't believe I will repeat that kind of heavy grind this year.

12k VPP-s to go till supernova, then I can buy the 800$ milestone bonus, which brings my bank account back to positive and lets me grow the roll a bit.

I have to admit, the downswing really affected my mindset and I lost additional 1000$ because of the tilt and bad play. But now I have managed to put this all behind and regain my confidence and winning mindset. Right after the month is over, I will revise all the theory, look through my game and concentrate on going for my best month when it comes to winrate - over 5bb/100 will be my goal, and at least 50k hands.

BR: 1001$
Cashed out: 5434$

Hi sm112,

It seems that DaPhunk's SSS curse has been lifted and you are now making profit :f_biggrin:

By the way, great interview ;) Never slowplay aces again! _cool:

Thanks for the interview, vhallee, and seems like the curse is gone for real, as I caught a nice heater today _biggrin:

Started to use stats again, and found a real goldmine. Also mixing in some full-stacking when I have started a new table and have position on one or two megafish, while being shorthanded (3-5 players). The goldmine is called Rennwurm, a Supernova Elite and really aggressive player. Second session starts from hand 830 and this is when I started to take his money. He starts several new tables and I join to his left. While HU, he raises 100% from the button and also a lot if I complete from SB. So I just have to wait for a hand that beats 100% range and push all-in, as he always calls. After double-up I buy in full and continue abusing him, as he 24-tables and at least so far hasn't adapted to my game, as I know exactly what to do to exploit his super-aggressive style. I leave the table when other players join and start the cycle from the beginning.

Here's todays graph:

Nice Graph, But I note this;

He's a German PS player I think. (can anyone confirm this?) If its the guy I'm thinking of He has the sickest chasing losses graph I've ever seen. Something like 30 BI down in a day which he then ground back up to breakeven over 20 or 30k hands. Totally insane rakeback pro! Be careful of him adjusting back to you ;)

Other than that, Sick Graph/Play! Keep it up

I played another session and updated the graph. It was 1500 hands and 620$ before..

I freakin' 24-tabled last 50k hands b/e, to collect strategypoints, reach top 250 and collect the 100$ prize.. Slept like 4-5 hours a night and grinded like a motherfucker. For what??? Started to use stats and play my good old game again today (6-8 tabling mostly, very careful table-selecting). You can see the results above.

No more stupid grinding, fuck the place in top250. I will go to bed now and get my well deserved sleep.

vhallee, I told you, that this interview will give me a motivation boost and I will start running like a god again :f_love:

For those who wonder.. Yes, I'm a bit above EV, 370$ to be exact. But according to EV it would still be 20bb/100 _love:

And don't give me the lecture about sample size, I'm a bit overexcited at the moment :P I have played 220k hands in NL100 with winrate slightly above 3bb/100. Here's your sample size.

no way rennwurm is a goldmine imo, he has a massive winrate

I didn't say he was for every other player. I said he was for me in a certain situation, because of his predictable and super-aggressive style and lack of adaption to non-standard situations (like he was stealing 100% from button while HU, not a wise move against a short stack, especially with a 4bb steal size). And I have already noticed it earlier, that this guy was one of those I have won the most from.

So no disrespect whatsoever, he is a sick player with sick volume and sick winrate.

Best way to start your moth, huge motivation boost to proceed with you A-game and avoid tilting:

I mean

WTF???

What have I done to deserve this? I was 500$ from cashing out and buying a new PC to take my multitabling to another level.. Funny, I don't feel I'm on tilt, it's more like I'm... devastated. I absolutely know I played my best game, had some setups, that's why EV line started to drop slightly, but kept telling myself, that this is variance, I will start to win again as I should.. But this shit is frustrating. This is sick. This is not normal.. I will go to sleep, forget what happened today, and wake up with a clear mindset and a will to play poker, because today I hate this game.

Hi sm112, you're doing a wonderfull job here, and I wish you best luck. Seeing your stats (like ~600$ profit with a 600$ BR in a single day) urges me to try the same :)
I have a question: do you play that classic SSS which is described in articles, or do you have modified it in any way? I guess your results should be way above average SSS results, otherwise all poker rooms would be already cleaned out.

Thanks and best luck!

I'm playing the advances SSS, as I make every move according to stats. I'm also trying to incorporate the mindfucking and soulreading part into my game :f_biggrin:
I like to start tables and play shorthanded against inexperienced players, as they are usually too tight or too loose and I quickly adapt and take advantage of their leaks. And sometimes I mix in some fullstacking, as I'm learning the fullstacking articles and would like to move on to 6-max tables some day - love the aggressive game.

It seems, that Stars is rigged to give the donks advantage and keep the money circulating and generating rake.

The month has just started and already I'm running about 850$ below EV. It's like paying additional rake of 10bb/100.. Pretty sick. BTW Stars players - check out the 300$ reload bonus.
