The guarantee is $100,000
Even if there are the maximum number of runners, the min-cash is $10, and the top prize is $5,000

888 just did an update today — I'm hoping that there will be another decent promo announced soon.
888 does have higher rake than most (5%), but their promos are fairly good. No rakeback really though.

I do like the site overall, but it lacks PLO8 cash traffic

They have a promotion called "Hand of the Day"
If you win with that hand, you get a prize, ranging from $0.50 to $1,000 — nice
The problem is that I frequently meet the criteria — but they don't pay out.

The other problem is that PLO8 hardly ever fills up any more.
Today I sat down with 4 players already seated — about the fewest I'll play against.
One of the players has this note:

You would think decent customer service is the least a poker site could do for you lets face it they have removed many of the other incentives.

That appears to be a problem with a lot of customer support agents, not just with poker, but also elsewhere. Especially those who correspond via email.

Whenever I have to deal with one of them, I always make sure to come in prepared, anticipate their standard "easy way out" replies, describe my case in as much detail as possible, providing references to FAQs and the like to let them know that I did read and understand them and that therefore there is no need to simply refer me back to them, etc, etc... Normally, those are the kinds of tactics you'd use in a debate, not in a conversation with someone who is supposed to assist you.

And even after all that, I still sometimes get those kinds of replies that show a complete lack of understanding on their part, some one which clearly being copy-pasted at least in part. What especially annoys me is if that lack of helpfulness is wrapped in (yet again, most likely copy-pasted) walls of overly polite and empathetic-sounding phrases.

Some customer supports tend to be a lot better than others, but in general, I try to avoid them as much as possible, trying to get my infos from other sources whenever I can (e.g. other users/customers).

Is this still about the Hand of the Day promo, or some other issue?

I provided a complete breakdown of the hand, and how it met every criteria in the terms and conditions.

The first response was:
"I see that you received $5.00 on 8/4/2022 I hope all is well and etc etc"
In the original email I specifically mentioned that I had won on the 8th, and had been paid.

The second reply just was a copy/paste from the T&C — that I myself had quoted.

And yes, it is still the HotD mess.

On checking my records, I see what may be the problem.
I have won on Saturdays with AT 3 times — and have been paid not once.

I wonder if they change Saturday's HotD and not updated the promo page???

Makes you wonder if there are even actual humans behind those responses.

Now that I know what the actual terms and conditions of this promotion actually are, I decided to play some cash hands.

The Hand of the Day Targets:

The Game:
Since 87 is a tough hand to win with in Hold'em, I decided to see if winning when 87 is in your hand playing PLO8 would work.
I does work indeed — even if you use neither the 8 nor the 7 in your final hand. What I had been missing before is that you must win with the target hand 3 times to get the reward.
Another wrinkle is that in split-pot games, if both players "lose" to rake, you still get credit even if you "win" half the pot.

The Plan:
 Play solid hands. "Solid" here means having the means to get the nuts — both high and low preferred.
 Avoid overplaying hands with 87 in them. So easy to do — if you get everyone to fold, you still get credit for the hand, but this is a fantastic way to remove a bankroll quickly.
 Without the nuts, get to showdown as cheaply as possible — even folding the hand if "cheap" isn't possible.

I'll be playing this promo daily for the Month of May. If you succeed 15 times (I think) there is a bonus.

As a humourous side note, an email today from Raise Your Edge asks, "Are You Losing Money Playing 8♠:7♠:?

Won a buck on top of the $2.30 winnings

Most of it was spent in fixing real-life problems, like dead fridges, removing stairlifts etc

I fought back though, and regained one of the buy-ins.

On reviewing this hand, I thought that perhaps if I had flatted the 4Bet I might have escaped with a smaller loss.
