And why here, in the english community? The hungarian community is pretty much dead (sometimes the newest post is more than one day old) and I also need to practice my english before I forget everything

Quick update about the challenge: current BR: $224 (+5)
This week was a roller coaster: climbed up to $280, just to lose (near) all on NL10.

I can't understand how can playing same game end up in such different results.

I think I am losing lots of money in 3bet pots. Any suggestions for articles/videos about 3betting/defend vs 3bets?

It seems like a fishy call preflop, but it was a missclick. At the moment I play on my notebook, which has a 15,6" screen. It's too small, so the tables are in coverage. I decided to buy a monitor (around 20-22") to play poker on. Hopefully I wil lfind a good deal next week.

Hello all!

I just realized that I haven't wrote about my future plans yet.
Firts thing I want to achieve is to reach $250 bankroll and get back to NL10. As soon as I will play confident on the level (and I will have at least $300 bankroll), I will move to Betfair poker. I have an offer there which includes a 200% first deposit bonus (up to €200) and a 35% rakeback.
In order to clear all 20x€10 chunks of my bonus, I have to get 25.000 status points, whick means, I have to generate €1.000 of rake in 90 days. On NL10 I can do this with playing ~140.000 hand, which is pretty much.

P.S.: I just read that the the rakeback deal will be available after clearing the bonus. So instead of getting back 35% of €1.000 rake, I can get only 20% with the FDB??

I am wondering what are the best and easiest to clear first deposit bonuses out there? I have an account on PokerStars, 888 poker, Winner Poker and William Hill. Can't wait for your suggestions!

Note for the last hand: this was 4th time in a row I 3bet villain for value, that's where I get the extra 50BB from, so I expected him to call looser and maybe be a bit tilted, in an other situation I would fold OTR.

There is not a lot you can do -- other than fold top pair, decent kicker.

I just stumbled on this question though -- perhaps it might be worthwhile to post your problem hands in the Hand Discussion forum. More people will see them, and you are much more likely to get advice from experts.

Hello all!

A few week passed since I wrote the last update. The reason behind that is I spent my weekends on lake Balaton sailing with my family and there was a team building trip with my collegues on the lake Balaton too, where I was one of the organizers. Of course we drank some beer ot some fröccs (wine mixed with soda. Actually I don't know, maybe it's only a known drink in Hungary ), so I didn't play poker so much.

Also I struggled with my 3rd shot on NL10 until hermuttig told me about some of my leaks in another thread. Since that things started to workout, so I want to say thank you to him in my blog too! Only played 6k hands since that, but the results are promising:

Last week I qualified for the $30.000 888summit tournament with a pretty nice 40BB stack. However after the tiring team building weekend I forgot to play. I ended up on 3858th place out of 59.317 players and won $3, without playing a single hand! The funny thing is, this is my best MTT result so far.

I have mixed feelings about poker in last weeks. On friday I had a record winning session. I am not talking about BB won, but I have never won $44 in one session before. My bankroll reached $392, which is my all time highest.

Than today I had a record loosing session, I lost $62. I went all-in 6 times and lost all of them. After a loosing session like this, when I feel I can only loose, I like to open PokerTracker and look back to my results in the past 3 month (I started to pley on 2th of May):
In May I won $97 on NL2 and NL5
In june I won won $58 on NL 5 and NL10 (winning on NL 5 and loosing on NL10 )
In july I won $187 on NL5 and NL10

I think I can be satisfied with these results overall

However, Looking at my graph on NL10, it is full of downsings and upswings, which is quite surprising on regular tables and I am not sure what is the reason behind. Is RNG playing a game with my mind or there is more swings because of my lower bb/100?

According to my stats, I fixed most of my leaks hermuttig told me about:, but I am not satisfied with my 2,88 bb/100 since that.

BTN 3B is 5,69 insted of 4,15
SB 3B is 6,39 instead of 4
Call R efficiency is 2,26 instead of 0,56
I lose 27bb/100 in BB instead of 45

3B stats could be a bit higher and I have other leaks I have to work on:
raise BTN VPIP from 31,96 to 37-40
raise BB VPIP from 26,38 to 30-35

Do you see any other leaks in my stats I have to work on?

It isn't really surprising since your sample size is so small.

The overall trend will start to appear closer to your true winrate somewhere around 100K hands.

After I lost 10 buy ins today, I looked back to my all time NL10 graph. I realized I can't even play breakeven on NL10 after 42k hands, so I decided to withdraw most of my BR and will play on NL5 from now on.

As I wrote in the Bonus requirements thread, I will document my experiment with 888 bonuses.

1st session:

First of all I requested a withdrawal, only $3 left on my cash balance and $9 on my bonus balance. I played NL5 on two regular tables, and 226 hand later I ended up with $6,47profit In the end I had $9,40 (+$6,4) and $9,07 (+$0,07) bonus. Don't really understand why I got most of my profit in cash, but all in all my goal is to reduce the bonus balance, isn't it?

After my session, I've got another $10 bonus from 888 (maybe they read about my experience and wanted to sponsor me ), so my bonus balance reached $19,07

Here is the progress bar before and after the session:

2nd session:
I requested a withdrawal again, but this time I left only the $19,07 bonus on my account. I played 181 hand on two NL5 tables, but I made a mistake: when I didn't found good tables, I opened an NL5 Snap table. After 36 hands, I completely ruined my +$2,49 result, and ended up with -$9,45 instead.

Q high flush vs. A high flush, top set vs flopped straight in 36 f#Đäin hands!!

In the end I have $9,62 on my bonus balance, (LahtiPelican vs. 888 poker 1:1) however as I lost my older bonuses, there is only the one alive which I got today, so the progress bar is white again...

That's the bad thing about the 888 bonuses: you can lose it before you clear it. However It is still better than losing your own money, isn't it?

I'm a bit worried still, but maybe I'll try this on stream.
In may case there is another wrinkle -- the only possible way I can withdraw is by wire transfer, since IIRC I made my 888 deposit using SKRILL or Neteller, and neither are allowed in Canada any more.

The problem with the wire transfer is that I can't find a proper bank code anywhere.
I've contacted the bank, though and I should hear back today with the right numbers...

I forgot to mention that I request a withdrawal via Skrill, so I can cancel it in the next 24H. However I do not know anything about when you can cancel your withdrawal if you choose an other option.
