Fair enough, I still like to call drawing to the lower kicker when you have trips in 5CD "The Vorpal", simply because you were the first person I've seen doing it. Now I'm doing it pretty much all the time myself.

It was actually something I learned from "bigpooch" who is by far the best 5-Card Draw player I have ever run across. He moved to Hong Kong several years ago, then dropped out of sight. I sure hope he's OK.

The thinking is that of the two cards, the lower one is more likely to be live.
The side benefit is that it removes the decision "which one should I throw"
Lately — esp in tournaments — if both side cards are Q+ or 2-4 I throw them both. This balances trips to sometimes drawing 2.

Does it work? Who knows? I haven't cashed a 5-Card Draw tournament in ages

I didn't notice that I had barely more than 1 BB left, and BTN limped so I got a free play.
