BB is a tight straightforward regular 22/14 and SB is a friend I know personally. He is a loose 40/20 regular with significant flaws overplaying hands. But he is very well aware of ranges and handstength postflop but capable of repping and bluffing all spots with kinda decent frequencies. He played me for over an decade now and knows me very well and he also knows the board is hard to hit for my range and there is lots of meta going on. Me having the 5♦ and the 2♠ blocking :4x::4x: and :Tx::2x: underfulls leaving basically :Tx::Tx: the only viable option. Can I fold my hand against such a narrow range? On the other hand he also knows that BB is a Tag and his cold check-squeeze ott is showing an incredible amount of strength.

I would just open fold preflop. This is not open in gto and as we get very likely action more often than gto assumes it gets even worse. Ds version is ok but that also depends on table. If we are likely getting multiway pots I would open fold ds version as well.

On flop I wonder if we should cbet. Reasoning is having fair amount of blocker value and our hand definitely dont mind to get protection. Issue though is what would be plan versus x-r. I checked situation in trainer with COvsBUvsBB spot with J53ss flop. BU in that spot would actually cbet half pot with A543 with bd fd. If e.g BB then x-r it would be 50/50 call and fold. But as people are likely way more value heavy with x-r I would not mind to just bet-fold. Check is fine as well.

On turn should we raise BB lead almost ever is next question that popped to my mind? BB should be aware that both SB and MP has fair amount of big pockets in their range. So his bet range should be quite polarized already. Also from all players BB has most boats and 3x in his range. He does use small sizing though. So I checked turn in HU pot MPvsBB and there versus 3/4 lead MP would basically have no raising range:

53 nut low boat would basically never raise. Now in this case BB uses small size but its also 3way so personally I would probably just call. When we raise we enter into very polarized part of game tree where our hand is actually not that strong. Call might feel bit weak but on other hand majority of our range are actually hands like overpair, Tx and even plain fd versus this small sizing.

As played when we do raise and SB 3bets its probably best to fold. Point is our hand is probably still sort of bottom of our value range? If hand went hero call BB lead, SB x-r and BB fold I would obviously go for bluff catch.

Agreed with preflop folding. I was playing 4T tables which made my RFI´s less accurate.

On flop I wonder if we should cbet.

I checked it UTG vs BU vs BB and the same thing was crossing my mind, seeing the relatively high cbet frequency with A42x (in your case A53x) combos over 40% in general and it was also specifically cbetting the combo I had.

I would call against a check-raise since visibility is good and my equity should be fine too. I think I have to add that villain is bluffraising more than optimum, especially on those light dry and wet low-card boards.

On turn should we raise BB lead almost ever is next question that popped to my mind?

Another good question I also asked my self. I also thought the hand might be too strong considering the board texture but for the points you have mentioned I agree that calling absolutely makes sense ott.

If hand went hero call BB lead, SB x-r and BB fold I would obviously go for bluff catch.

That´s what I did.

Spoiler

Turn: (€5.25, 3 players) 2♣:
SB checks, BB bets €1.57, Hero raises to €7.47, SB raises to €21.87, fold, Hero calls €14.40

River: (€50.56, 2 players) Q♥:
SB bets €25.88, Hero calls €25.88

Results: €102.32 pot (€1.50 rake)
Final Board: 4♠: T♦: 2♦: 2♣: Q♥:

Hero mucks 5♦: 4♥: A♠: 2♠:: (Full House, Twos full of Fours)
(Pre 43%, Flop 19%, Turn 3%)

SB shows 4♦: T♠: T♣: 8♠:: (Full House, Tens full of Twos)
(Pre 57%, Flop 81%, Turn 98%)

SB wins €100.82

I think the hand was quite interesting because of the unorthodoxity. Without solver it is really hard to continue strong second-best hands when you have to make a stand against 2 big bets where villain range is fused into 1 specific 2-card combo only. But in PLO it seems that such occasions are still somewhat frequent.

I meant if we only called BB lead and not raise. When we call our range is very wide versus such small bet and at that point there is no way of folding boat or trips if SB x-r. But when we raise versus BB lead and then SB x-r its very different scenario where our raise range is supposed to already be quite polarized. Maybe not as much as solver would have when BB uses small bet sizing.

But yeah its definitely spot where it doesnt really make sense for BB to go for small size. Its not like he has spot for wide value range.

Yes I know. That was a problem at the analysis since solver indeed does not bets small, it´s just a bad play.
